NFL head: Trump's 'divisive comments' show a 'lack of respect'

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell fired back at President Trump on Saturday for encouraging league owners to remove players who take a knee during the national anthem, saying Trump’s “divisive comments” show “an unfortunate lack of respect for the NFL.”

“The NFL and our players are at our best when we help create a sense of unity in our country and our culture,” Goodell said in a statement. “There is no better example than the amazing response from our clubs and players to the terrible natural disasters we've experienced over the last month.”

“Divisive comments like these demonstrate an unfortunate lack of respect for the NFL, our great game and all of our players, and a failure to understand the overwhelming force for good our clubs and players represent in our communities.”

He will get it soon enough. The NFL is driven purely by money, and tumbling revenues will soon enough cause this Goddell monkey to “reconsider”.

I had been upset about having to boycott the NFL.
Now, not so much, instead I now looking forward to it.

Is Goodell an idiot or what? Can he deny that the political antics, on camera, of a few NFL players are NOT “divisive”, NATIONALLY divisive!!! What sand pile is his head buried in?

WHAT? Goodell must address the player's lack of respect for our National Anthem. Show respect, you get respect Roger

Can you imagine if a league head said this about Obama?

"You are most welcome to steal it. We need to help rehabilitate folks until the NFL non-patriotic infection is healed."

The NFL infections are like an a addicting combination of the worst STD's combined with a brain killing meningitis with new infections every weekend and on Thursday night.

“The NFL and our players are at our best when we help create a sense of unity in our country and our culture,”

I heard that. I also heard an analyst on FOX parroting that.

It is as if it were intended as parody, but it is disingenous--they don't mean it. These athletes are using their platform INSIDE of the show to disrespect the patriotic aspects of football. What other sport gets flyovers?

They can do or say what they want on their time. It's in the same class as the A-hole actors in that NYC play "Hamilton" who took it on themselves to lecture Pence from the stage.

As far as I'm concerned, Kaepernick et al have disrespected me and a large segment of their fans. Trump is the only one who has spoken out against it. He's speaking for us on this, while Goodell and those who try to be our moral instructors are lecturing us to feel otherwise.

And now I see some former black democRAT congress critter, Donna Edwards from Maryland, has suggested ALL NFL players take a knee during the National Anthem before the game to protest Trump's comments.

If that happens, then I hope ALL fans will then leave the stadium.

The NFL and their players need their fans for support, not the other way around. Tickets should go unused on game days. TVs should be turned off during the games. Advertisers should be boycotted.

It wouldn't take long before Goodall and the NFL and their thuggish, criminal-type players will see that Kapershit is the problem, not Trump and the fans.

Doesn't the NFL enjoy some sort of exemption from Monopolies?

I would be a shame if that disappeared...

Soooo- MR GOODELL:

Colin ( I don’t stand for our national anthem because I am such a know-it-all) Kaepernick gets an award for contributing his chosen amount to the victims of the hurricanes & J J WATT doesn’t even get a ‘special mention’ for raising over $37 MILLION for those same victims.??? WTF???

You have it all backwards, MR GOODELL-—as does too much of this whole country.

I do not tune into an NFL game to be told about the ‘lack of diversity or culture’ in this country. I want to watch clean competition-—without any sign of Black Panther raised fists or other disrespect towards our flag, our country & our military who protect these snowflakes for their ‘rights’.

I got snookered —along with many California politicians— with ‘Graffitti is just an ART EXPRESSION by the Hispanic illegals’ and many large cities are the worse off for that sentiment. It IS NOT ART-—it is a malicious, destructive eyesore. One of the reasons why I left So Calif & finally, N Calif.

Get a grip—MR GOODELL—the NFL owners have the entire right to sit or fire a disruptive player. IF a kid gets a time out for disrupting a classroom-—why not the same for one of these very highly paid ‘athletes’ who seem hell bent on destroying the value of the teams & eventually the entire NFL?

Then where will YOU work, MR GOODELL????? Who will pay YOU over $40 million a year plus benefits & extras???

Goodell needs to be fired by the owners if they still want a profitable NFL. If they won’t, then they are part of the problem and should be shunned by all patriotic fans.””

I would be in favor of firing any player who doesn’t stand for the flag & the national Anthem.

They are being PAID to wear THAT UNIFORM & to produce competitive entertainment for the enjoyment of the people who buy the tickets, tune into the broadcasts, and buy the cable TV packages of NFL games.

Like an actor-—they can have a personal life, but when you are in front of the cameras, you will FOLLOW THE SCRIPT.
None of these idiots are being paid to ‘protest’ while on camera for an NFL game.

Either GOODELL has lost his testicles or he never had them in the first place.

IF I owned a company & MY employees were wearing one of MY uniforms & servicing mMY customers—if they behaved in the manner of CK & others, they would be fired. When on MY time clock—you will behave in a manner that properly reflects MY company-—TO MY STANDARDS. Otherwise-—Adios!!

I will downsize the company if I have to.

Sounds like GOODELL overloaded his mouth with what his ass can not handle——and that new contract might not be signed yet.

Jerry Jones & Robert Kraft might find a very large monkey wrench to put into those gears.......

How about John Bolton as NFL Commissioner???
