I understand that the people in North Korea are suffering greatly, but I'm torn on this. On one hand, do you help the suffering people? On the other, do you help prop up a failed, brutal regime? It's not money, so that's good. Money would get taken by the government. However, who will oversee the distribution of these products and will they make it to the intended recipients? In a book I read about North Korea, they talked about rice sent by the United States government. It was not distributed properly by the government, and some, in fact, made it to black markets where it was being sold to hungry people. If North Korea is the success that they claim to be, they would not need aid from the South. The people of North Korea will never know these things were sent by the South - they will think they were provided by their government, so they won't feel grateful and feel open to the South because they won't know. In the end, I doubt this kind gesture alters in any way Kim's ambitions.

Remove all US troops from S Korea NOW. The Liberals have taken over S Korea. They are effectively undermining sanctions and hard line Diplomacy with North Korea. If North Koreans are so desperate, the citizens of the country will fight for their existence. This is a slap in the face to Trump. We’ll do what we need to do to ensure N Korea cannot and does not attack us or Japan and to a reasonable extent S Korea, but you protect your own damn border. Heck we don’t even protect our own

Absolutely. They can feel sorry for North Korea on their own time and dime.

We are ready to dunk the little fat man if he tries to strike and S. Korea feels sorry for them?!?

Yes. As well, I'm willing to bet that a good portion of that donation likely gets siphoned off by Kim for his military. It isn't like someone from SK is there to monitor and verify that all of the food makes it way to the people of NK.

Is South Korea retarded?

Evacuate Seoul and lets get this over with now, or many more millions die later.

It’s the only option left at this point.

Because no matter what we do to Kim artillery is gonna be fired on Seoul. Lots of it. If we kill him, if we oust him, the outcome will be the same.

The South Koreans should starve the beast. Pain now, long periods of bliss later. Anyway, most of these materials, if not all, will go to the NORK military.

Send in a special ops team with one of those suitcase nukes and detonate it when they go to “test” one of their weapons. Kim will be present, and claim their weapon malfunctioned while he was observing it with the scientists. The public will believe it around the world.

If they starve North Korea the outcome will be the same as any action we take with the exception of giving aid.

We’ll push Kim into a corner and instead of facing a coup he’ll order the artillery fired, millions in Seoul die, possible nuclear detonation in Seoul or Tokyo, and we’ll flatten North Korea.

That’s the only possible outcome whether we strike first or they do.

Send South Korea a recap and final disposition AFTER East Germany ‘married’ West Germany.

Of course, it did give Germany the ‘excuse’ it needed to ‘push’ for the EU..(My take on it—in a sense, Germany succeeded where 2 WW’s didn’t quite make the grade)

Maybe South Korea thinks if they merge with North Korea they will be able to pay back Japan for all the years Japan ‘enslaved’ the Korean Peninsula.

This makes no sense to me. The Norks stand ready to slaughter South Korean civilians by the bushel. They would enslave the South if they had half the chance. If people are starving in NK, it is the direct fault of the Kim regime. This is might be well-intentioned insanity, but it is still insanity.

I feel sorry for the deceived NORKS. I feel sorry for the S Koreans that voted against socialism/communism just like the TEA Party did against the socialist/communist 0bama.

0bama and B Clinton enabled the NORKS. If we are going to take out the NORKS then we need to also deal with our own TRAITOR NORK enablers.

"We have consistently said we would pursue humanitarian aid for North Korea in consideration of the poor conditions children and pregnant women are in there, apart from political issues," said Cho in opening remarks at the meeting...

I'm probably going to get flamed for this, but I don't think it's EVER a good idea to let children starve or go without medical care, no matter how much you hate their government. I suspect that, even though the country is divided, Koreans in the South still regard those poor souls in the North as their fellow Koreans, especially long separated families and relatives.

One way to look at it is our own Civil War. Supposed that war would have ended up a protracted stalemate as exists in Korea. And, like Korea, suppose one side fell into economic ruin and children and pregnant women were suffering. Do you think we would not have sympathy for those of our fellow countrymen, at least for their children, to provide what basic nutrition and medicine we could, even though politically we were in a state of enmity? I guarantee you we would.

What do they anticipate — some major diplomatic breakthrough, Kim being toppled, etc. ?

That’s the only possible outcome whether we strike first or they do.

It's better that they make the first aggressive movements so we can finally move on without this puppet-state occasionally annoying us. Sooner or later they WILL fire a nuke, and China will play innocent.
