I know the feeling. There was a place in Phoenix called Lobby's that is gone now.
The place I loved in Phoenix in the 80s was “GuadalaHarry’s”.
And in the 90’s my favorite Phoenix food was Y.C.’S Mongolian Barbecue.... The one up by Metrocenter. That’s another food I dream of.
Looks yummy.
Has it been there long? I vaguely remember eating something quite good at Cedar Crest years ago.
I should take a road trip and find out. Friend of mine actually lives one hamlet over.
If you are ever in Durango, Co. try the Tatanka burger at Carver’s brewery. Get a pint of their Raspberry Wheat Ale and you are in heaven.
I used to go through Durango a lot... But decided to never go back to Colorado when they legalized dope.
Had a Tommy’s in 1982. Great burger. Wife and I took a driving vacation out to California in 199 and I wanted another, but couldn’t remember where it was.
I was very disappointed.
All’s I know is I had one once on a drive from Orlando to Mobile, green Chile.
Outstanding, surprised the Feds haven’t forced them to open more outlets in “disadvantaged” areas.
Probably 35 years.
“I’ve eaten many Whataburgers, too. But they don’t come close to Five Guys.”
At $15 for a burger/fries/drink Five Guys are obscene.
“I once drove 300 miles out of my way just to have another, but sadly found that the place was only a pile of bulldozed rubble.”
Oh no. Can’t imagine the disappointment.
The evening of 9/11, I ate at the original Whataburger in Corpus.....half the place is modernized and the other half looks like it did when it first opened. I love their breakfast tequitos......
tommy was given numerous offers to go big and he always refused, You always got chily and the drinks were on the honor system.
I may have had one then. Up until 20 years ago I was in that area a lot.
