That’s why I ask for someone to provide the peer reviewed study showing the proof. Crickets.
People that choose to smoke do so knowing that it is harmful and addictive, the responsibility is on them not the tobacco companies. Same goes with alcohol and prescription narcotics which are also legal. What about the illegal drugs? Being illegal hasn’t stopped their use. A lot of people that think suing the companies that make the products they don’t think is moral want to use gun manufacturers.
I discriminate against anyone who carries with them attributes that could do harm to those for which I am responsible
you discriminate against drivers then, do you...?
The government (Federal and State governments) went on the anti-tobacco campaign entirely due to the fact that they saw increasing taxes on cigarettes as something they could sell to a gullible public. As soon as they were successful, they started the Global Warming BS because they figured people would roll over on a BTU or carbon tax just as easily since they rolled over so easily on cigarette smoking.
People who want to stomp on the rights of others over cigarettes are 90% people who claim they're thinking of the long term effects of smoking but can't grasp the long term effects of the government gradually taking away freedom, one cigarette or spoonful of sugar at a time. Look at the GOP Congress, they won't repeal Obamacare because they know damn well how much control it grants the government.
The anti-smoking crowd are the sort of folks who won't realize what they're doing to themselves until they're taken at gunpoint to the mandatory castration or genital mutilation clinic. Of course, 99% of the men in the castration queue will simply become Muslame on the spot but the women won't have that option. Too bad, so sad, it's for the good of society.
JMHo
Damage was already done, but maybe you can't comprehend the connection?
Yup, exactly so.
What is it about liberals that they cannot stand it if someone is having a good time!?
Who are the smokers who don’t see and discrimated nation (justified or not)?
Cigar smoker here—I am discriminated against—where are my reparations!
Who are the smokers who dont see and discrimated nation (justified or not)?
huh...?
Yes it does stink, but it doesn’t kill. It’s totally reasonable to be repulsed by the stink. Just don’t let that get you carried away into asserting things that aren’t so.
I quit 50 years ago, picked it up and ended it in the Army.
I am happy I gave it up, saved much money over my life time. That money has allowed me to establish an excellent wine cellar!
I can’t fault your reasoning my FRiend!
Preach on :-)
Pot smoking good, cig smoking bad. LOL! I do know an individual who is also in the midst of stopping cigs like me but she’ll fire up a joint in a heartbeat.
The majority of the price of cigarettes IS taxes, proposed to pay for the cost of healthcare. The medical field blame everything on smoking or second-hand smoke, as it helps the cause makes their job easier.
I quit in 1976 after smoking for 14 years. I hate smoking. I back smokers though. Go ahead. I Only frequent ‘smoking allowed’ places with good air scrubbers.
It’s a cash cow for politicians. They put huge tariffs on a legal substance. If they really think its that bad, ....have it banned. They won’t.
I hate the stench of cigarette smoke but the smell of a good cigar or good pipe tobacco doesn’t bother me a bit :-)
Yet alcohol and drug addiction treatment is heavily subsidized by taxpayers including you. Why are you just discriminating against smokers?
[ I defended her right to
make a personal choice as a citizen of an allegedly free
country.]
But that “right” infringes on the “rights” of those who want to live a healthy life, or have allergic sensitivities to smoke.
You want to endanger your health, fine. But to endanger people around you is not a “right”.
So all your ranting and raving about tobacco smokers and punishing them through the heavy hand of government all boils down to the fact that you don’t like the smell?
