Conservatives often complain about the lamentable state of their movement. They would do well to look left. Liberals are in greater trouble, and they know it.
The recent special elections for vacant House seats made this evident. The thrashing liberals received in the 2016 elections were also a sign of an inability to communicate their message. Gone are the days in which liberals worked inside a consensus and engaged in debate with others. Everywhere, liberal democracy seems to be endangered by the breakdown of political discourse.
This is due to a great crisis inside the left worldwide. It is no longer a movement of ideas. Liberals have no new ideas because they have adopted such an extreme relativism that they no longer strongly believe in anything. Everything is fluid and undefined. In this way, they have undermined their own foundation of logic and authority that is essential to the functioning of any political movement.
As a result, the old days of rational debate are over. The left exploits emotions and resentments, but can no longer be held to the logic of ideas.
The left also has little passion. Passion requires strong beliefs worth fighting for. To be effective, it must be focused and directed by vision. However, many liberals now admit that they have no vision. Their ranks are full of aging militants who lack dynamism. More often than not, its most ardent activists, like those of “the resistance” or Black Lives Matter engage in erratic and irrational behavior that alienates the population as a whole.

We are in another “age of enlightenment” and one of its benefits is the exposing of the democrat/liberal lunacy.

It nails it in a way that forces the argument in the RIGHT direction. There is so much more to be seen from the likes of Prager U, Klavan, Bill Whittle, etc.
The entire Democratic Party has become the largest and most dangerous hate group operating in the US.
If a Tea Partier had taken a shot at some Democrats in the first 6 months of the Obama Administration, there would have been raids, arrests, regulations and laws passed that would have outlawed conservative speech and advocacy.
We all remember how desperate the media was with every mass shooting in trying to blame it on Republicans. Their behavior through the Scalise shooting demonstrates that they support the political violence against the right and protect the hate-group known as the Democratic Party.
There is no skeleton left in which to put the meat of ideas.
The word “liberal” is a common modern misnomer for profligate, illiberal followings.
They are no longer opposition but rather have switched to a war footing. Unless they press home the WAR their ranks will become scattered and disillusioned.
The Liberal hive mentality is very ugly and hopefully more and more people are seeing that nasty fact and want no part of it.
It is the eternal battle between good and evil and the pendulum is starting to swing the other way.

The author makes the same mistake that the liberals themselves make.
It isn’t an issue of inability to communicate their message. It was an inability to DISGUISE their message.
The left communicated their intent perfectly. It was REJECTED by America.

This may be true, but, if they can’t take over at the polls, they are going to create untold havoc. The ugly “world community” is behind them.

Americans heard loud and clear that liberals hate and fear guns in the hands of law-abiding citizens, hate America, hate freedom, hate whites, despise minorities, hate men, despise women who disagree on any one of their 378 non-negotiable litmus tests, hate Christians, despise Jews, hate guns, and of course hate those children who are not aborted. The only things the Ctrl-Left loves are illegals, other criminals, and an ever-growing big government.

I agree with this author’s point but what is missing is that liberalism’s history is one of abject failure. See the War on Poverty, Obamacare, communism, Venezuela! The Public School system! How many failures and disasters does it take for people to realize that liberalism leads to failure wherever and whenever it is tried.

I disagree. Their message is being heard, just not accepted. They keep trying to keep everybody believing that they are some type mass grassroots, but they just have phone trees and 10’s of thousands of fake twitter/facebook/linkn accounts so they can bully people.

Nope, Liberals debated democrats, scoffed at conservatives and never negotiated in good faith with them. Now that the true Democrats have dwindled down to a mere handful who actually cower at the Progressives, and the Liberals are dying off (retiring, lost election et al.) and being replaced by progressives.
