NEW YORK (AP) -- The USAA financial services firm is reinstating its advertising on Sean Hannity's Fox News Channel program after receiving heavy criticism for its initial decision from many of the military members and veterans that it serves.

Rush's show is syndicated differently. Per Wiki;
The Rush Limbaugh Show is unusual among syndicated radio programs in that it is fee-based; that is, radio stations pay iHeartMedia hundreds of thousands of dollars (the exact amount depends on market size) for the rights to carry his show, in addition to giving up 15 minutes of daily ad time for barter advertisements and the Morning Update.
The individual stations sell the rest of the advertising time themselves. Therefore, the advertisers are too diverse for left wing "boycotts" to work.
considering Hannity’s strong troop support and seeking TRUTH glad to hear this..
i called and was read a script
i thanked the young man for reading it and asked him to kindly voice my concerns to whoever gave him the script and pass it up the line...
i guess enough people called... BZ
My son works for them in San Antonio. Lots of liberals employed in tech jobs there.
I’m betting someone other than upper management/ ex military made the decision.
Bravo, our military, for fighting the good fight for freedom here at home, too! USAA used to be smarter than this PC episode revealed.
I took the opposite approach.
I yelled.... and damn near cursed the lady out.
Well I dumped my auto insurance with them over it. Might go back if and when I buy a new car.
“Im betting someone other than upper management/ ex military made the decision.”
30+ year USAA member. Sorry to disagree with you. USAA spends tens of millions of dollars in advertising, by some accounts over $100 million per year. Media plans and media buys of this size in corporations are reviewed and scrutinized by executive management. There are also rigorous approval processes to change advertising purchase plans once they are approved. In every corporation I’ve worked with on advertising, a change such as removing Hannity would be minimally approved by the EVP of Marketing, and in most companies would be approved by the CEO.
In any event, the CEO is responsible for major policy changes as well as major operations changes. The buck stops with him. He is accountable for the decision either in making it himself or in delegating it to someone who made a bad decision. Either way he owns it.
"...Too late USAA, you are $100 grand lighter just from me..."
I have personal experience with this company that required getting the office of the ceo involved.
They made the situation right without too much hassle...took a loss.....but they really had no choice legally due to employee incompetence.
I will give them credit for being a responsible company.
USAA probably doesn’t want to lose Maddow cause she’s on a roll right now.
Exactly. You wonder if USAA was smart enough to ask for the callers' names and account numbers, rather than just listen to their complaints. Sure, there may have been some legitimate lib account holders complaining and threatening to boycott, but I'll bet far more were just bots or DUmmies with nothing better to do than make phone calls. Once USAA caved, REAL account holders called in big numbers. Oops.
My guess is this whole flap was started by a tweet from a lower lever dweeb at a third-party, outsourced media marketing company.
The decision never got anywhere the USAA active management, let alone the Board of Directors.
Exactly my point !
The Dems are organizing electronic opposition - but they are ghosting, or bots !
When real customers react, the company retracts.
Expect to see more of these 'ghosts' and bots in the future!
Excellent!
Now they need to fire the dumba$$ who made the decision to leave Hanity.
It is more like 90% of their potential customers.
Member 44 years; agreed !
Excellent. You the people did it. Bravo!
44 year here; I agree.
I will vote against ALL the current board.
And so many of us were ridiculed for even attempting to sway them. Those of us who are members knew it was worth a try...and it was.
