Actually, the House Oversight Committee has 40 members: 24 Rs and 18 Ds.

With 7 sub-committees, I suppose it is not too surprising that they have a big staff. But it is scandalous if they really allow almost all of that staff to be Democrats. Just insane.

You completely missed the point. It doesn’t matter if this one little group walks out. EVERY CONGRESSIONAL STAFF is composed overwhelmingly of Dems in a REPUBLICAN House!!

That’s the issue. Yeah, nice that some left, but what about the other 2,000???

Isn’t this just representative of the area? 92% of D.C. voted for Hillary.

Part of the problem is that how many conservatives actually want to do the job? Conservatives, by nature, have a disdain for government, whereas to liberals, government is the “be all, end all” of their existence.

My Utah guy, who knows Chris Stewart, one of the other UT congressmen, really well, says Chaffeypants wants to run for Governor in 2 years . . .or president (not kidding) in 2020.

It explains almost everything. You can even cut the Congressmen a (tiny) break if they are constantly fed lies on everything by their own traitorous staffs.

No, your staff should come from your home state.

I’m sick and tired © of being told what the problem is with seemingly NOTHING EVER BEING DONE TO FIX IT.

I saw this exact report a couple of hours ago when I came home from work, and I nearly dropped off my chair, professor.

Like you, it makes me wonder how many other committees are made up the same way. If it’s what it looks like from here, nothing now surprises me....going all the way back to Boehner.

I cast my first presidential vote for Reagan, and I was so excited to do this that I was like a cheap watch in a bucket of magnets. True believer.

And yet here I am, all those years later, with the rapid, (and some horrific) changes that have come to this country and now I wonder about Official GOP:

1. Do they not understand that we are in a WAR?
2. Are their jobs more important than the fact that we are in a WAR and they don’t care, willing to let it all go?
3. Are they this lazy that they can’t even be bothered to find out who is running the show on their f*cking committees and figure out their motives?

This is why, despite what all polls show that only 20% or so of the country is crazy ass left wing, that they keep winning. The left regards every open job in gov’t, from the lowliest clerk in the mailroom to the head of a campaign as a job they MUST have for themselves.

We don’t need only ONE Trump. We need about 10,000 more seated in gov’t.

I’m bummed out and going to bed.

You all need to see this. Stunning.

It has long been my worry that DC is run by staffers. I think each time a new member is elected he/she should bring in their own staff. Term limits of congress critters would make no difference at all!

Thanks LS

Why do they need staffs in the first place. The job isn’t that difficult that it should require such a big staff.

Totally agree, and if made dictator, one of the first changes I’d make would be to limit ALL house/senate people to 2 staffers. They can have one answer a phone, one for research. Or both for research & say screw you to their constituents.
