Gateway Pundit has retweeted a report from borderlandalternativemedia.com that Hannity will be fired next week. True or not, it is a reminder that the number of conservative media outlets are few in number.
My personal opinion is that the liberal world was shocked that conservative media was able to overcome their attempts at brainwashing during this last election. They thought they had it in the bag. They thought their voice was so powerful that it could not be overcome.
Now it appears they are attempting to silence conservative voices one by one. Hannity is definitely one of those pro-Trump voices that is being targeted. Others will soon see their turn at being targeted by establishment propaganda machinery. I expect Dobbs, OANN, and others to be under assault soon.
And Free Republic.
Free Republic is the most enduring purely conservative site on the Web. It cannot be blackmailed by advertisers as is happening with Hannity, because it has no advertisers to whom it is beholden.
It also has the very best discussion software anywhere to be found. Those who have had to do endless scrolling on Facebook know exactly what I am talking about. Free Republic can sustain a virtually real time conversation with multiple participants. Nothing else does that. Personally, I'm convinced that Free Republic is better than Facebook, and if there were a head-to-head competition that Free Republic would win.
Free Republic is not rich because it chooses truth over money.
Think of the stories broken here. Think of where you went for info during this last campaign for the presidency. Every place else was promoting fiction, endless attacks on Trump, and Trump Derangement Syndrome.
Who will support Trump when the other conservative media is taken out? Free Republic.
The only ones who can take out Free Republic are freepers themselves. If they don't donate to this self-funded site then those who post threads and comments are voting for another conservative, pro-Trump voic to die. They are voting for their own voice to die.

I think my previous post shows my confusion.
I always donate. I don’t check “where the donations go.” I don’t really care, except that we had some severe breakdowns this year, and I just found out how much the site makes through donations. I’d like to have a way to correlate, to legitimately donate to keep the site going. Does that make sense? And I mean it in a loving way Because I am ready to send a donation. I just want to hear something about how we can all help to prevent such a thing.
I’d say Rush was the brightest bulb by far, at least back when I used to listen to him. Before him, Wm. F. Buckley Jr. I have to criticize Sean’s intelligence, because despite his many redeeming qualities, dedication, etc., he often repeats phrases instead of formulating arguments. He has very little originality. That’s fine. But I can’t listen for prolonged periods to dedication. It’s like living on fries with ketchup and Sprite. No food for thought.

Just to be clear, I am just a supporter and in no way connected to FR. I have never been a mod ever, I have never been to a freeper get-together, and I’ve never met or talked to Jim or John Robinson or any mod or anyone connected to FR.
Also, I’m not a techie either. I’m a retired army chaplain. I can barely explain the difference between memory and speed.
So, bottom line is that I’m giving you my conjecture. I don’t know.
I have, however, used other sites , and I know what’s complete and easy to use and what isn’t. FR is the best I’ve seen.
That makes me think it’s worth a fortune, but the ownership hasn’t pursued that. That has resulted in my trusting them.
So, bottom line, that is one reason I support DR.
I love FR, I trust FR. Maybe JR could explain how we as donors can help REALLY avoid the shutdowns, maybe there is a way? Of course it’s the best site out there but how to keep it out there? Are donations not enough? I don’t understand.
We’re looking into it. It’ll either be an entire new hardware platform using the latest and greatest bulletproof technology or the cloud. Thanks.

Problem is that the Sun is not making many sunspots (decreasing magnetic field)...so long distant coms is poor.
I had that...click on "continue" a couple of times to get to a "add this web site to allowed list"....and continue on to make the donation....worked for me a few mins ago.

I had an uncle who somehow got involved with Jehovah’s Witnesses. As my dad approached death he, too, became a Jehovah’s Witness. They were always predicting the end of the world.....in seven years. When the seven years came due I asked, “Why did the world not end?” The reply was that they had miscalculated and that there was now an additional seven years.
That was in the mid-60s and we are still here. What happened? ROFL
