Gateway Pundit has retweeted a report from borderlandalternativemedia.com that Hannity will be fired next week. True or not, it is a reminder that the number of conservative media outlets are few in number.
My personal opinion is that the liberal world was shocked that conservative media was able to overcome their attempts at brainwashing during this last election. They thought they had it in the bag. They thought their voice was so powerful that it could not be overcome.
Now it appears they are attempting to silence conservative voices one by one. Hannity is definitely one of those pro-Trump voices that is being targeted. Others will soon see their turn at being targeted by establishment propaganda machinery. I expect Dobbs, OANN, and others to be under assault soon.
And Free Republic.
Free Republic is the most enduring purely conservative site on the Web. It cannot be blackmailed by advertisers as is happening with Hannity, because it has no advertisers to whom it is beholden.
It also has the very best discussion software anywhere to be found. Those who have had to do endless scrolling on Facebook know exactly what I am talking about. Free Republic can sustain a virtually real time conversation with multiple participants. Nothing else does that. Personally, I'm convinced that Free Republic is better than Facebook, and if there were a head-to-head competition that Free Republic would win.
Free Republic is not rich because it chooses truth over money.
Think of the stories broken here. Think of where you went for info during this last campaign for the presidency. Every place else was promoting fiction, endless attacks on Trump, and Trump Derangement Syndrome.
Who will support Trump when the other conservative media is taken out? Free Republic.
The only ones who can take out Free Republic are freepers themselves. If they don't donate to this self-funded site then those who post threads and comments are voting for another conservative, pro-Trump voic to die. They are voting for their own voice to die.

But is there any way to know how our donations can prevent a week long breakdown? Is there a plan to reall y have our donations ensure the running of FR? I just want to hear that, then I will be happy to donate extra.
(I also want an app really badly as on the phone I can’t see what I am typing and it’s very unwieldy freeping on a phone.)

You are right. If that is Hannity’s correct email at Fox, HE IS ALREADY OUT. Undeliverable.

All I can offer is that Free Republic’s funding is miniscule compared to Facebook. We get the software skills of John and Jim Robinson, and the equipment their funding permits. 80,000 a quarter is 320 grand a year. A minimal package for a new teacher is about 75 grand when salary, health, pension, etc are figured. So, funding 2 families is like funding ministers at a church. It will take half for staff and half for program/maintenance.
Compare that to billions of dollars and thousands of employees for facebook, and the issues all come into focus.
FR chooses truth & independence over money.

Hannity is not going to be fired. He is going on a preplanned vacation.
Sadly, in truth there is no way to guarantee uninterrupted service. Case in point. We take it for granted that our lights will come on every time we flip the switch. Last night there was a very serious storm where my mother-in-law lives, and her power is still out.
Just as she is relying on the utility company crew to restore service as quickly as possible, we count on John Robinson and Jim to do everything humanly possible to minimize the inevitable glitches.
I know it's super frustrating when Free Republic is down, but I thank God every time this shining beacon is back on line. The brief withdrawal is bad. Permanent withdrawal would be the death of me, lol.
My small donation isn't much, but together we FReepers can make sure this wonderful forum is never silenced. God bless.
Rush is a good talker. He can explain conservatism and show how wrong liberalism and leftism is.
But he keeps slipping into the “sports” of politics, calling Republicans “us” as if we were two teams wearing red or blue. Wrong. Both political parties are evidently against We, the People. His paradigm needs to change.
Also, he will do the bidding of his bosses with ease. He fights nothing. He will never put his comforts on the line. He will even do the bidding of a Chuck Schumer in his show’s content.
HANNITY IS THE ONLY TALKER WITH COURAGE who is true blue to his soul, no shtick, no acting. He will (HAS NOW) risk his money and career to bring us the truth.
I hope folks give. That period on facebook should make everyone pray for free republic to stay afloat.
Who is the brightest bulb in the chandelier? Huh? I bet that genius doesnt work 95% of his life, dedicated to our Republic, like Hannity does. Why do people around here have to criticize Sean’s intelligence when he achieved this much in his life while remaining a PROUD conservative, and never went bleeding heart or selfish or grandiose?? It’s really sad.

No way to prevent an FR breakdown for a week? Even though during the blackout, FReepers were all suggesting ways to get redundancy? I am not techy so I don’t know. But with all these great minds, couldn’t there be something to prevent a week down, in the USA? If $350k a year isn’t enough, what would be? How do other sites do it? I don’t know these things. I’m ready to donate. But I just wish I could know how we can help prevent a week down, or a day down even (outside of enemy attack).
