Church bans yoga from premises because it’s ‘non-Christian’
Metro UK ^ | May 10th 2017 | Rob Waugh

Villagers say they’ll boycott St David’s Church, in Blaenporth, Ceredigion, Wales, in protest.

Church bosses say pilates is OK, but not yoga, which ‘might be seen to be in conflict with Christian values and belief’.

In truth, I’ve enjoyed discussing with you. I think you seem quite intelligent and I would think that you’ve been able to put that intelligence to good use for yourself, and hopefully for others close to you.

Yoga is like the marijuana of exercise. You just can’t criticize it.

IOWs this mild discussion with a grand total of two people has become too much for you so time to invoke a straw man argument. LOL

“American yoga DID start in the 20th century.”

You need to learn to cope with FACTS. -——

Two facts to start from:
There is no “American yoga”, there is just the Hindu-religion yoga.
Second, yoga - the Hindu religious practice was first taught in America in the early 1880s, most notably at the World Parliament of Religions (which wasn’t quite exactly a meeting of aerobics fanatics, by the way).

Her book traces the modern Western practice of yoga to a Russian woman named Indra Devi, who was born in 1899 with the birth name Eugenia Peterson.

You’re wrong.

Actually I really do think yoga is the marijuana of exercise. But I’ve also enjoyed discussing with you and I get the sense one of your strengths is subtlety. Just be careful and make sure you use your strength for good, not evil.

“The church has largely failed in her duty to protect her people by providing even the most rudimentary education on the pragmatic reality of evil in the world.”

This is true. Though the (now former) mainstream denominations have had very little to do with Christian faith for many years - so Hinduism, Islam, whatever, it’s all good. This is why they are dying churches/denominations.

In actual Christian groups there has been the lack of teaching - so many people get involved in non/anti-Christian religious practices out of ignorance and confusion. The blame can be placed at the feet of the church leaders.

According to your words here and the words of others it's not possible for me to know whether my actions are good or evil since my intent is not a factor and my actions may unconsciously be demon worship.

One thing we have learned here is that Christians have an extremely low tolerance level

When ever they feel threatened they irrationally lash out

You feel as if people are “lashing out” at you? Do you find that upsetting and/or hurtful?

LOL LOL! Unreal, I never seen a star so humiliate him or herself regularly as Elvis did in those stupid movies. What was he thinking or was he on drugs back then as well? Every freakin’ movie was the same: Stupid banal plot, insert stupid banal songs at random, song must be about what stupid thing is being done at the time in the movie whether it be yoga or a clambake. He even sang “Old MacDonald had a farm”. I think after his mother died he just didn’t give a damn anymore, it was a slow sabotage of his life.

If your practice of yoga threatens your practice of Christianity, then there is something wrong with the way you practice both of them.

you may want to research the meaning of namaste - decade ago when I looked it up it was the light in me acknowledges the light in you. So depending on what each person means by light (whatever they believe their “light” comes from) makes a difference.

I do agree the physical activity is good for people but again it depends on if instructors are explaining it thru believes or theories not in line with Jesus Christ which many, not all christian yoga I’ve been to are twisted up with non biblical stuff. It can lead weak Christians into other belief systems, it’s what happen to some women I know.

also wikipedia is not always truthful so it’s not a great thing to use as a source since people can edit it to say anything they want.

TM I have heard, is training to achieve a complete absence of thought.

The complete absence of thought, I have heard, provides a gateway for demonic spirits to enter.
