If progressives believe gender is fluid, then why not race?
Philosophy professor Rebecca Tuvel touched off a firestorm of controversy this week with her paper “In Defense of Transracialism,” published in the feminist journal Hypatia.
In it, Professor Tuvel argues that we ought to support those who identify with a racial group other than the one into which they were born just as we support transgender people.

There is absolutely no difference.
Either one is to simply lie. And/or be deceived.
I think one element is that there’s a lot of money to be made being the “right” “race,” and much less in “changing” “gender.” A man who wants to present himself as a woman has to pay a lot of money - unless he’s a California prison inmate - but a person who successfully assumes an “oppressed” “race,” such as Elizabeth Warren or Rachel Dolezal, is in the running for a big payoff.
Therefore, it is important to protect the “reality” of “race” from encroachers.

The destruction of our society is now in full gear. In the mid-60’s the first door opened and now look at our society today. Worse yet, with each new “opening door” our society becomes unhinged in giant leaps.
The “rot” started at our colleges and now has spread to the entire educational system from kindergarten to the highest levels of education...if you want to call it that.
All “so called” educational facilities are nothing more than correct-political indoctrination centers. History is distorted to fit the mould set by our liberal educators, simple math has been ruined by “the new math”, english is now frowned on and now emphasis is placed on Spanish and other languages of the hordes of invaders into our nation.
The moral of the story is “get them when they are young and tell them horrible bogey man stories and they will be afraid to go out into the night for the rest of their lives. It works with young children and it is the basis of our so-called educational system today.
We have gone too far due to political correctness and it is now too late to turn around. In 30 years we will not even know this country as it was.

Liberals live in a poison destructive state of total discontent... in near every aspect of their sad pathetic lives. This leads to perpetual tantrum. Like most miserable souls, they despise we who are content in our minds and bodies... so they demand we be miserable too. In a way they are already in Hell, they don’t have to wait to die.
Reality is a perception but a persistent one. And reality is that if we are born with a set we are male, like it or not.

I would say around 20% you start to get all the advantages of being black. Obama did with 50% but he could have done with less. Much less.

I’m guessing the “one drop” rule is back and it’s now not considered a bad thing.
Race is a construct also, which has some underlying biological substrates, but not enough to be definitive at the margins.
If a white woman wants to see herself as black, there's no law against it, but there should be no expectation that government--or sane people-- need to humor her delusions.

But race?? You’d need Nuremburg Laws to figure if someone is legitimately black or white or Hispanic or whatever. There is no simple way to settle the issue in some cases.
Race is now a stupid concept — there isn’t any race.
Makes total “sense” in a Lib mindset. They always argue against reality. Take something physically measurable like gender and claim it’s “fluid”. Take something like race, which has no measurable definition and is indeed “fluid” and claim it is immutable.
It’s why the liberal SCOTUS Justices put a clock on Affirmative Action; they knew we were headed toward a mixed-race society and at some point, whitey would benefit.
But I hope you see the point — you say “around 20%”. But someone else says “around 18%” and someone else says “around 22%”.
Who is right? How can this be decided? What percentage is “correct”?
It cannot be determined. The problem isn’t the number choice. The problem is that there is so much blending that the concept is now obsolete. Race is “whatever”.
We need to focus on culture instead and we need to be judgmental about what is good and bad. That’s not being racist. Oh, no! Couldn’t be! There is no race! I’m just saying that rap music is utter crap and only morons listen to it. That’s all I’m saying.
