RACINE — The widow of a Racine delivery driver James Norris, who was gunned down on Racine’s north side in March 2016, is calling for a ban on hollow-point bullets that reportedly contributed to his death.

“The guy bought the ammunition from Walmart that killed him,” Stacy Blevins said. “You don’t buy hollow-point bullets unless you meant to kill him.”

According to Racine Police, Norris was shot to death March 25, 2016, in the 3900 block of Green Street. He was found in the street next to his car door at an apartment complex where he had just delivered food from his employer Super Steaks and Lemonade.

Widow... of James Norris.... Stacey Blevins....

A feminist, a liberal, and an idiot; not necessarily in that order

I wonder if she thought this up on her own.

Maybe we should just require bullets to be made of marshmallows!

Bullets are supposed to damage what they hit. Hollow points increase the effectiveness of bullets for defense, and decrease the likelihood of over-penetration.

That is why most police departments use them.

This is going no where in Wisconsin.

Poor woman and sorry for her loss. A sawed off shotgun would have killed him too. Perhaps a machete or an ax. The criminal was what killed the man.

I can understand her anguish, and my heart goes out to her and her family who have suffered such a tragic loss.

But...Bad people will always find a way to hurt the innocent. Cain murdered Abel with a rock. Genghis Khan’s armies killed millions with arrows, swords and fire. Criminals in every country murder without guns. Hollow points give the vast majority of citizens who are not criminals, like this woman’s bus and, an effective way to dump most of all of the bullet’s energy into bad people, and to not affect other innocents who are nearby. Even the police use them, for that reason.

In any case, I will not be giving up mine, except by airmail to anyone trying to take them from me.

"...“I talked to medical people who said they would be more likely be able to save the victim of a regular bullet than a hollow-point bullet because they’ll explode in the body..."

See, right there you know that you're dealing with people who don't have a clue what the he11 they're talking about.

Do away with hollow point bullets and start using solid assault bullets. Designed for maximum penetration. Each bullet makes two holes instead of one. Yeah, that should do it.

He accidentally fired three times?

That quite a mishap of inadvertence.

“Boom Boom” Mancini killed a guy with his fists.

I’m sick of fists being allowed.

Would have made my boxing career (wasn’t that good anyway) a lot shorter!!

“You don’t buy hollow-point bullets unless you meant to kill him.”

If only he had been shot with those non-deadly "safe bullets".

Or with a water-filled squirt gun. Walmart should have sold the shooter one of those.

Or by a gun that was really just a pop-tart that was chewed into a frightening shape. Walmart sells pop-tarts, don't they?

There are already laws against murder but that didn’t stop the killer.

Pitiful earthling. Hack saws to cut an X in the tip and drill bits are not out of style.
