This healthcare debate among the GOP factions is absolutely stupid and counterproductive

Posted on 03/26/2017 5:08:03 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

This is absolutely stupid. These long drawn out debates within the GOP struggling to settle on the nitty gritty about what and who should be covered and at what price is ridiculous. It's NOT your job, gentlemen. All you are doing is playing into the socialist democrats hands.

Please consult your pocket constitutions and discover that the power to make these decisions regarding health care and insurance, etc, is not an enumerated power and is not delegated by the constitution to the congress or the federal government. It's reserved to the states and the people. Get OUT of it!!

Conservatives and Republicans fight against this unconstitutional intrusive big government socialist crap, remember?

Mr. President, I know that you are a compassionate guy and you like to take care of the people, but our federal government was not established to be a charity to take care of the poor. This was all left to the local and state governments and the people to decide. Charity is a societal or local government issue, not federal government. Insurance is in the domain of free enterprise. You need to get your people out of it, and concentrate on your primary constitutional responsibilities: National defense, national security, border security, foreign relations, trade, making sure our federal courts and constitutionally authorized departments are manned with constitutional-minded people and that they are faithfully and efficiently executing the constitutional laws to the best of their abilities. Keep the waste and fraud and corruption OUT! Keep the cost of government and taxes down. Do not allow the federal government to put up unconstitutional or unnecessary regulations or obstacles to free enterprise.

You want to go down in history as the most successful president in history and the one that saves the nation and our liberty?

If so, repeal and dump Obamacare and all the other wasteful unconstitutional crap you can right now, early in your first term. Do your homework, find out which departments and programs are dragging down the economy, dump them, and cut deeply into the deadwood wherever possible.

Write off and dump everything you possibly can and take all your big lumps in your first year or two. Get all the losing crap behind you and then start building on your successes with your new lean and mean constitutional machine.

Like the man said. Go BIG and go BOLD! Repeal, cut, slash, rip, burn and abolish (rinse and repeat)!

Drain the swamp and MAGA!

Oh, yeah. And don't count on Lyin' Ryan, Turtle McConnell or any other big government establishment RINO. You were elected to fight against the establishment jackasses, not to join them. Remember?

Maybe Trump should allow for tax subsidies and credits for people to buy state chartered charitable health insurance companies sans shareholders, sans obscene perqs and salaries.

Tax reform next huh?

It’s NOT your job, gentlemen.

Damn straight. It is NOT the job of the President or Congress!

And, Mister President, you can use your bully pulpit to encourage states and municipalities to create low cost clinics and free clinics, run as charities or with some help from local / state governments.

Repeal fedgov at all in medical care. Instead, focus on some basic USA laws for health insurance companies: they must sell across state lines, they must offer a low cost catastrophe plan, they must offer a high cost “sick people” (pre-existing) plan for the next five years. And of course for the banks, and tax laws, allow medical savings accounts.

President Trump, sit by the fireside and give the American people a little history lesson about what the constitution allows the fedgov to do and not do.

Also, ask Americans to provide for their family’s health. At the very least, they should all buy a low cost catastrophic plan for every member, in the next five years. Because after those five years, there will be no law mandating insurance companies to provide “insurance” for sick people with no insurance. It’s a crazy thing that will be gone in 5 years. Everyone should have coverage for their own sake, in case they get cancer or hit by a car. Or else maybe they won’t be able to afford to get well.

I don’t believe there is any federal authority over the AMA (American Medical Association). Its a private organization. So the FedGov can’t abolish it. What states could do is stop letting the AMA tell them how many can be admitted to state medical schools.

Amen!

But I say again the depth of our problem is shown here where the “conservatives” exist en-mass. Yet so many think Ryan/Trump care was good for them, They Want Government to Govern their lives...

So Sad!

From another post but relevant to this post also:

The question is amiss...
“Can Republicans govern if they can’t keep a promise they’ve made for 7 years?”

I do not want, nor need the GOP or the Federal Government to “Govern” me PERIOD and this is the problem so many have they accept they need to be Govern by things of this World vice Governing themselves by God Order... Yep now were getting to the root of the problem...

God Bless

AMA is a cartel. Their strict licensing requirements are preventing entry into the healthcare field.

Nurses, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants can do the same diagnosing and routine/general treatment that a doctor can. And they can establish practices in rural or inner-city areas that don't have them.

The AMA is to healthcare what the FDA is to drugs.

That’s because the GOP is stupid and counterproductive. If it had been up to them, Jeb Bush would be potus.

You are on a roll Jim. All 7 points are right on. You also correctly identified deregulation in a modest form of the AMA, something that is critical to reduction of rising costs.

I agree. The repubs are lazy, misguided and capon-esgue. What “leadership”! They are only “leaders” if that means being confused lemmings jumping off yet another cliff. Don’;t tyhey see that being traitors-to-their-electorate is a losing game? Poltroons...buffoons...goons...

I just posted this on another thread.
I think we are pretty much on the same page.

Is Trump going to be a socialist or is he just trying to get everyone to reveal their cards?
I want the fed out of health care.
Government never fixes anything.
I only see two possible good uses for government in health care.
Laws protecting competition and tort reform.
Repeal first

I’ve gone newsless today... out of sanity... but didn’t I see somewhere that Trump is going to handle more things first hand? I thought he would do that... why hasn’t he? If ya want something done right, do it yourself... still holds true even if you are the President? Evidently...
I have faith in our President... more so than with others. To leave the healthcare with ryan was a mistake.. but that should have been obvious from the get go. If it’s important, watch over it... and the media spin has made it the number one topic.. especially when they report it as a ‘loss’, a ‘bad week’...they celebrate anything that is anti Trump.

The GOPe is just as much the enemy as the Dems. For those who have been asleep, it should be clear by now that Paul Ryan is GOPe all the way.

The GOPe never had the slightest intention of actually repealing Obamacare. For years they have been pretending to pass bills that would repeal it, knowing full well it was all for show.

When the REAL opportunity came along the bill they came up with simply “replaced” it with something at least as bad. It’s a good thing it did not pass.

Mitch McConnell is GOPe also. It is no accident that President Trump is having so much trouble getting his appointments through the Senate. The blame lies directly on McConnell.

The GOPe mask is coming off.

We are in for a very long, very hard fight against an entrenched power structure that still controls most of the levers of power. They would rather burn the house down than lose that power.

Until recently I did not realize how far the rot had spread. We face a more powerful and evil enemy than I ever imagined we would see in our own country.

The outcome is uncertain, but at least we have begun to fight back. We now have a chance.

To make commerce regular between the states is an inumerated power.

And there is a huge arguement to be made on that point.

RNs spent 2 to 6 years to get their degrees.

Physicians spend 8 to 12, perhaps more if a certain specialty is desired.

Nurses simply don’t get the same training.

The Nurse practitioner will get most of it. They are allowed to do assessment and even prescribing. They are as close to a physician as you’ll get without being one.

There is a lot of responsibility that goes along with a physician’s license. Yes it’s tough to get there, but the process weeds out folks you don’t want anywhere near you. (Well most of them...)

There is more method to this madness than you may think.
