Trump couldn’t do a deal with conservatives, so he’ll go do a deal with schumer.
What magical development allows for a family to buy a child's drugs with other people's money rather than their own?
Patents on drugs are limited in time just like patents on other inventions. Once the patents run out ANYONE is free to produce the drug and deliver it AT COST.
I'm presently taking a drug which costs $120k per year. The patent just ran out. There are already three generic makers for this drug. The prices are still high, but competition will bring them down to no more than twice the cost to manufacture them or less. I am quite confident of this.
There is a reason why most major drug developments are accomplished by American companies. If you adjust your focus and recognize the tremendous bargain you get for 15-year-old medical treatment you might begin to appreciate the economic system which created it.
Have you heard of any child in the U.S. dying from polio or lack of penicillin recently? Do you begrudge the companies that developed these miracle drugs the profits they anticipated when they made their sacrifices to bring them to market. I don't.
Put down the crack pipe...
1. death panels is one.
And if you didn't support him in the Primaries you were pretty much personna non grata around here.
Will he “beg” him?
Sorry Bud, but I can’t imagine President Trump begging.
This was Ryan’s mess.
Amen, Jim.
My Rep. Dave Brat has been a stalwart since being elected .
100% Heritage Foundation score
We all owe the Freedom Caucus thanks for standing against Ryancare being hung around the neck of our President.
It was a rearranging of Obamacare, not even close to repeal.
Trump did not approach this from the conservatives side. He approached this from Ryan’s side.
We will never get a better Speaker until there are more Dave Brat type Reps and fewer Paul Ryan types.

Some of us just listened right past this interview. Done in 2015
“On behalf of conservatives - I see today as a victory.”
Precisely. Ryno and others tried to truckle and failed.
`Comprehensive health care reform’ failed.
The Eeyores here are getting annoying with their Cassandra-like weeping over the failure of Obamacare Redux.
If you have a plan D you have certain MD’s and even hospitals you cannot get full coverage at. Vanderbilt does not cover BCBS Diamond Plan members. Only BCBS Blue.
Two years ago? Ty to keep up. This is 2017.
Thank you. I don’t know why folks, including the president, can’t understand that health care is not a responsibility of the federal government. It makes no difference what is in the bill itself; it is the fact that accepting the principal of federal responsibility puts the country on an unsustainable path. It is not a matter of supporting or not supporting the president, it is just wrong to think that good intentions can justify improper actions.
When the democrats passed Obama Care, they recognized that it didn’t make any difference what the bill contained as long as it put the federal government on the hook for people’s health care. Rather than taking this once in a lifetime opportunity to kill the monster, republicans, through arrogance or ignorance, think they can make it better or manage it more efficiently. As with a myriad of other programs, this one will take a life of its own regardless of how it is structured at the beginning.
He’s been saying for two years that the government was going to pay for people. “It may cost me votes”. Yep... today it did.
Agree with all you said, Jim. Any form of socialized medicine is unconstitutional on its face, and should never even be considered by the Republican party.
Rip Obamacare out by the roots, and return medical care to the states and the people!
Reduced the penalty to $0.00 but left the mandate in the law.
There was no repeal in this rearrangement bill.
He’s trying to do what he promised to do: repeal and replace. So here’s something from this year: https://www.washingtonpost.com/video/c/video/ffd1dca6-d821-11e6-a0e6-d502d6751bc8
His mistake was trusting implementation with a Wisconsin “progressive”: the devil’s in the details.
Get rid of the guy with two first names.
The bogus polls are already out?
(Where do you get this stuff?)
Trump was aligned with Ryan.... he was not aligned with the conservatives. That’s the reality. Instead of pushing the conservatives to accept it.... he should have been pushing for a conservative bill that repeals Obamacare.
