As Republicans prepare to vote on their health care bill, which does not fully repeal Obamacare, a number of Republicans say its a mistake to put their names to the plan:
Just let Obamacare collapse, then challenge the Democrats to come in and help us fix the mess they created, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) told Fox News Friday morning, as lawmakers debated the latest iteration of the bill on the House floor.
President Trumps going to be judged by the outcome of the legislation, and what I see in the House, I dont think this legislation is going to move the ball in the right direction.

Won’t work. The dems will double-down on stupid and probably push for single payer.
Expecting help from Democrats is like asking a wolf pack to guard your flock of sheep.
Exactly. And their co-conspirators in the MSM will do their best to keep the public stupid about the impacts.
That was their goal all along.
They don’t need no stinkin’ Constitution!
Surely Lyndsey knows ObamaCare cannot just “collapse”. There are many bills to pass, many reconciliation votes, much back and forth negotiating, and months and years of wrangling back and forth must happen before ObamaCare can “collapse”.
One thing is sure though. If Lyndsey and his boyfriend Johnny ever do come up with their own plan - I will oppose it 100 percent.
Until then this fat turn can keep his pie hole shut.
I wouldn’t say “probably” with respect to that. Obama always talked up single-payer when Obamacare was being propagandized to the public.
Yep. "wait for ObamaCare to implode?" Wait for what? It has been imploding for years and years and Obama still got elected to a second term.
This is reminscent of the foolish idea to allow dems all the power they want so they screw everything up and then the country will turn to conservatives for help. Yeah right.
Being in the majority is HARD, doncha know? It means you have to WIN, from time to time, and that is SURE to lead to hard feelings from the other side.
And the GUILT of winning, that is the worst part, because there had to be losers, and if we all can’t be losers, then that just further humiliates those who do. (I wish this WERE sarcasm, but recent history seems to indicate otherwise.)
I watched that interview and he also mentioned that he did not vote for Trump.
I would be willing to be that the Democrats would be a lot better prepared with a repair plan than the Republicans were with a replacement plan. And when their unpalatable solution is voted down then they can blame the GOP. One way or another the Republicans now own health care.
If the GOP passes a replacement, the Left will make them _own_ it - and do everything possible to ensure it is a miserable failure.
What “repair plan”?
To be sure, Dems would certainly be “prepared” (as they’ve been for decades) to push single payer. Their cohorts in the GOP-e are acting as the setup for that, as always.
So this is what happens when government is in charge of our health care?
They let it collapse?
Is their healthcare also going to collapse?
No?
What a bunch of assholes.
Anything Linda suggests, do the opposite...
I wonder where McCain is on this, normally Linda is attached by the Anus to McCain and follows his lead...
Well, that’s the plan, since it’s a false dichotomy between the GOP and the left.
It sounds like a good idea to let Obamacare collapse, but Obama and the Democrats are already one step ahead of you, Graham.
Just yesterday Obama was publicly stating for the record that Obamacare is fine, and will be fine... as long as Trump attends to it, funds it, and generally takes ownership of it — it will all be great.
The point is that already, Obama and the Democrats are laying the trap that if Trump and Republicans keep Obamacare it will be THEIR fault if it fails because THEY didn’t attend to it properly. Obama and Democrats gave everyone Obamacare and it had issues but was in great shape when Obama left office and handed it to Trump, but now Trump and Republicans screwed it all up by not maintaining it properly because they hated it.
See how this will play out?
I think he is right, let it collapse and don’t try to fix it.
What they should do is just send him a repeal bill that repeals every word of Obamacare and worry about the replace part some day.
Someone PLEASE tell me how Obamacare “collapses.” I believe that idea is simply a lie that is being passed around, so everyone falsely believes it.
Obamacare has the full force of law behind it, particularly the mandates, and the exchanges. Yes, insurers may continue to leave, but those that remain will continue to raise rates through the roof and the middle class will NOT be able to escape it.
Moreover, much of Obamacare was simply a massive Medicaid expansion, paid for by Fed.gov, with massive debt in our printed, unbacked currency. That will certainly not change. Spending is in the DNA of our government.
Therefore, NOTHING will collapse. Obamacare will limp along, funded by Fed. gov, screwing the middle-class even harder.
