How can MORE government involvement make overall health care costs go down?

Posted on 03/19/2017 12:29:32 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

It can't. It's a lie if they say it can.

Keep the government OUT!!

But “Trump will fix all this on day one.”

Yeah, right.

We wouldn’t be addressing this at all, without Trump winning.

By the end of it, we’ll get what we want.

Hang in there.

Excuse me boss, but nobody can undo what the Congress has done, except future Congresses.

“Undoing” federal involvement....

And this could take a while....what a mess.

(IOW, it won’t go away all by itself)

Sure, they lose 10% per unit...

But they’ll make up for it with the increased volume.

I hope to God you’re right. But I’m a natural skeptic, considering what the GOP has proven itself to be over decades.

Has anyone ever seen an bureaucrat or politician able to solve a billion simultaneous equations per second like a free market can? Until that happens, I’d prefer to let the free market solve allocation of resources questions.

We have more government than we can afford. Immigration, Obamacare, Global warming... are not designed to succeed but to destroy this nation and to loot the riches nation ever!

Trump “CANNOT” do the job of Congress. He can sign Exec orders all day.

It can’t.

The cheapest solution, if done by the govt, was in the beginning of obamacare, where it was stated something like 30 million Americans were without health insurance. The cheap solution was to give each one a million dollar fund just to pay health related expenses. Do nothing else.

I wonder how many billions of dollars obamacare/trumpcare will total out to in the long run? This includes government costs, state costs, extra insurance premiums for people and medical costs that have gone up.

Betcha when it’s all done, that 30 million people coulda been given a billion dollars each and still save money.

Socialism does not work, never has, never will.

A lurker just sent me a note that ended with this comment:

“The idea that Al Frankin and Maxine Waters are great minds that can solve my problems for me somehow is not a very attractive idea to me.”

And that reminds me of Carlin’s Law as applied to congresscritters:

“Just think how stupid your average congressman is. And now realize that half of them are even stupider than that.”

Y’all still don’t get it.

What is money? It’s 1s and 0s created by the Federal Reserve via Quantitative Ease. 25% of US GDP was created on a whim over the past 6 yrs.

It has destroyed the integrity of money. No, forget gold. That is irrelevant. And forget other currencies. ALL THE CENTRAL BANKS are working in concert.

So with the integrity of money rendered inconsequential, how can we swagger forth all about the conservative principle of lowering gov’t spending and debt. IT’S ALL NOW MEANINGLESS. We have to live day to day concerned about it, but it has no moral, ethical or basic meaning. That’s all gone. The crisis of 2007-2009 destroyed it and it’s never coming back.

And btw, this is why Obamacare won’t implode if you do nothing. The money to fund it can be created with the wave of a hand. Oh, that creation will be obfuscated and some diversion will be here and there, but Obamacare will NOT implode left alone. It will be funded and the money to pay for it created.

Given that as a starting point, you have to look at these plans with a different eye.

This support of Trump for the Ryan plan is so against what he promised and the reasons why he promised it, that I have to believe there is a method to his madness.

We will both be watching to see how this plays out, but I think we’re going to wind up much closer to Paul’s plan than Ryan’s.

In the end, if that is the case, I don’t care how Trump gets us there.

I’m not happy how it looks right now, but I do believe RyanCare is DOA.

Fingers toes, arms, legs, and eyes crossed...

That pretty much sums it up!

Your sentiments on this is pretty close to mine.

Especially this part...

You can do it like Castro, by rationing health care and killing people.... and then keeping all the money and properties of the dead...

Abortion is the language.

It is well known that government oversight makes quality worse and costs higher. Red tape has never helped anything become cheaper. It is indeed a bold face lie that to put a doctor under the “ care” of a cop makes things worse.
