“3) The Chemical Safety Board, which investigates accidents in the chemical industry and makes safety recommendations.”

These clowns fancy themselves to be the NTSB, they are not.

Could you point to the place in the Constitution where the government is authorized to run OPIC? If you can’t, the agency should be eliminated.

A govt agency that actually makes money? I am sure that that was never intended.

Am I missing something?

YES

President Bush appointed me to the Board of #8 — Institute of Museum and Library Services — and I served for about five years. Nice people, and well-intentioned, but the work they do doesn’t justify taking money from working Americans to finance it. I have a hunch the same is true for the other organizations, as well.

After the bloat is removed, I say the govt. should calculate what the total outlay is to each state in federal dollars for every program it funds.

Then, reduce the number by 25%, issue a check for the remainder then let the states use the money to fund any programs they determine are necessary. Take the programs out of the hands of the fed. govt........

There are probably good arguments for each program that is proposed to be cut or even eliminated. The question is whether in this time of mounting national debt, if it is high enough priority.

Trump wants to increase military spending and not touch entitlement programs, while not increasing the deficit. This requires reducing “discretionary domestic spending.” Separately, he will propose cutting some taxes, while closing some loopholes and enacting a border tax, all in a way that doesn’t increase the deficit.

There is no magic to this. Possibly you can recommend something else to cut to make all this work. Or, maybe you think increasing the deficit is o.k. Maybe you want to cut food stamps, or Medicare, or Pell Grants. But, Trump promised not to cut entitlements. Maybe you can argue for a smaller increase in military spending. I think, realistically, every dollar not cut in discretionary domestic spending will mean one less dollar for increased military spending.

I would suspect it is riddled with corruption simply because of the nature of its business.

These government agencies are all on government welfare and taxpayer funded and most are anti freedom Marxist socialist run and must be eliminated to save our Constitution and our economy from the tyrants entrenched there in.

Absolutely. The federal government has no Constitutional authority to be making healthcare dictates to its citizenry.

There was a mention on the morning news about DJT targeting agencies that are inefficient, ineffective, or redundant - perhaps these are some of them?

My question is why in the world would President Trump want to ditch this group that returns over TWO TIMES it's budget back to our government!

My question is why would the government think its purpose is to run a business??

My take:

I like this test for whether a program should get funding. Since all government taxation comes with threat of enforcement thru the use of force, we should ask ourselves "Is this something I feel that my neighbor should be forced to pay for at the end of a gun?"

Do I feel that we should all have to contribute to the common defense even if we need to be coerced? Yes. Should we all be forced to build a museum? No.

Plenty of private funds can pay for these projects.

It bugs me that people of modest income living hundreds of miles away from a city with a museum are forced to pay for it so the elites can feel good about themselves.

Most Republican Congress critters have talked a good game for years about the budget, deficit, size of the Federal government, etc., but now that they have a real opportunity to make the necessary changes, they fight President Trump every step of the way.

Where is this expenditure authorized by the Constitution?
