Seething U.S. Journalists Angered About Taking Commercial Flights To Cover Secretary Tillerson in Asia
A Reuters filing en route to Asia showcases the bitterness, anger and seething rage of U.S. journalists who have been forced to fly First-Class Commercial to cover Secretary of State Rex Tillersons Asia trip.
State Department correspondents are used to the exclusive wide-body private charters of the U.S. federal governments airline fleet. Previous heads of the Department of State have flown aboard Air Force 3. Normally a Boeing 757. At the very worst Air Force 3 would be a C17 Globemaster.
However, T-Rex is taking a smaller jet to Asia and only one journalist accompanies him. To make matters exponentially worse, T-Rex did not select a journalist from the corporate stable of the refined and pedigreed media elites. We can only imagine how Andrea Mitchell must be seething at having to take simple first-class commercial flight accommodations with ordinary people. The scope of the almost unimaginable horror she has to face will soon pour from her pursed and vengeful lips. We can predict a retaliatory report soon from the wrath of the ignored elitist within NBC. This shall be, as they say, epic.
Secretary Tillerson has rebuked customs and norms. The traveling correspondents will have to pass through customs and passport checks as if they are ordinary travelers. There is a very real possibility no-one will recognize them or care diligently for their very individual and specific needs.

Middle seat, coach, all the way and back, with a 3 year old who has an earache right behind you and a Korean subsisting on a kimchi diet in front of you. Both indignant Clinton voters.
offer to let them ride in the back of a cargo plan like they make our troops!
Pay for your own ticket you free loading drunks.
If they have to travel, make it 25/8. I'm sure the International Date Line crossing can help them. :^)
I am heading over to China in a couple of weeks. I priced business class round trip and it would have set me back @ $4,500.
Good now Andrea can write about getting felt up and shadowed pics of her bod on display for the TSA drooly types
Laz - seems to me this one counts as a win. :-)
Not quite crossing the threshold.... but keep looking!
I was thinking they belonged in dumpster class, but if they want to pay their own way for coach tickets, I’m good with that. ;-)
They do have to pay for it, even if it’s a government charter. The government has a floor full of accountants that figure up the bills. I think, I’m pretty sure this is true. Even the president gets billed for non-official meals, if I’m not mistaken.
Regardless, they are only pissed at the prestige lost in not traveling with POTUS. I don’t care if they pay or not. There is still nothing in our Constitution that says that they have that right over any other citizen.
They don’t have shite. They closed their bureaus long ago. That’s why they are... #FAKENEWS.
so they can keep the payoffs silent?
Were I Trump by the time I left office I would have no white house press corps. I wouldn’t prohibit my staff from one on ones or TV appearances. But I would encourage them to all have blog and I would have one. Get off twitter and set up my own platform with Q&A and comment (maybe limit or high people to read the comments and call my attention to some. Also Ivanka has a knick for this. I project 20-30 million subscribers. In act if he charged $15 a month he could fund the white house outside the governmental budget and maybe a few small agencies.
When freedom of the press was put in, people went to town and read bills posted on buildings and then we had newspapers. No TV, no radio, no internet. Now we have the capability to send questions directly to the president negating the need for an intermediary to relay the information.
The press can still be free to post news or editorialize, nothing stopping them from doing that. Just don’t gove them formal recognition and access and speak directly to us. We can make our own interpretations and draw out own conclusions just as we do when we read editorials. Eliminate the unnecessary middle men.
or the arrogance of other reporters as wel as the TSA.
Okay, look out, now they are really, really mad. They are really, really going to to get mean and nasty in their reporting of Trump....
...oh! Wait a minute, they already are.
Republicans have to learn that it does no good to be nice to the media or the left (but I am being redundant). They will never report honestly on any issue, it will always be slanted negative against this administration.
:^)
Did you check any of the China airlines? They are usually 20-percent cheaper.
I’m doing a Frankfurt to New Zealand trip in Oct, business-class, for $4,500 (stop in Dubai). Via Qantas.
First class? Ordinary people? I have never flown first class.
Why would they bother going. All the stories are already written.
