Dear Mr. President: Do NOT under any circumstances endorse or sign RYANcare - it will destroy you
March 11, 2017 | Jim Robinson

Dear Mr. President:

Do NOT under any circumstances endorse or sign RYANcare. RYANcare will immediately become TRUMPcare and that will destroy your credibility and your presidency.

Ryan and the globalist big government GOPe hates you and what you ran on just as much as the democrats and the media. The day you sign TRUMPcare, you own it and they own you. You will be the GOPe's prison bitch. You will also lose your support base and then your tax plan and other trade and economic plans go up in smoke.

Do not settle for anything less than full and complete repeal. If you can't get that from congress, then veto whatever they send up (rinse and repeat as necessary) and if they fail eventually to send up a clean repeal bill then sign nothing and let Obamacare implode on its own.

The crap about 60 votes is crap indeed. They control the senate and the rules. No excuses! This is totally in Republican hands.

If they override your veto, then they own the disaster that follows and you will still have your credibility and your support base. And we are prepared to fight these evil socialist bastards until hell freezes over if necessary.

What happens to the millions of poor people if they lose their health insurance? Well, how did they manage to get health care before Obama? What happened to the millions of people who lost their health care when Obamacare was installed? What happened to the millions who lost their jobs due to Obamacare? What's happening to our economy and our national debt as a result of socialist programs? What happens to our people when the government finally goes bust?

Look, the media, the democrats, the GOPe, the globalists, the corporatists, the crony capitalists, the socialists, the illegals, the Mohammedists, etc, are all going to hate you no matter what you do. Do not under any circumstances blink, retreat or cave-in to their socialist demands. That would be the end of your moral authority and the resulting continuation of unchecked big government will lead to the ultimate collapse of our economy.

Worst case, if the current socialist government/crony capitalist corporate healthcare insurance industry implodes, we will still survive as a free nation and free people. We have faith in God, our constitution, our free markets and our ability to overcome major obstacles. We shall overcome and persevere.

If we slay the federal behemoth and get back to free markets, we will find that government costs will come down, the economy will soar, healthcare costs will come down, federal tax rates can come down, and as more companies are profiting and more people are working, federal and state tax receipts will actually increase. And truly destitute people who cannot provide for themselves can be supported by local and state programs as intended.

Hold the line. America will love you for it in the long run.

Theoretically, but history shows that kicking the can down the road never works. Balancing the budget is one example.

Yep. The idea medicare is going to be rolled back in 2020 (a POTUS election year) is a pathetic joke. Never going to happen in a million years. We are being lied to. Again.

there is no evidence McConnell will do the heavy lifting required to support Trump’s agenda in the Senate.

The evidence is; otherwise Trump will take him out.

I’d prefer outright repeal, but unless you can mind control some Senators into voting for outright repeal, we may have to fight for every inch we can get instead of one perfect bill.

I might agree if there was a shred of evidence McConnell is willing to “fight” for the Trump agenda. So far outside of maybe shutting down Pocahontas one time he is business as usual. That isn’t good enough against rampage Democrats.
Compare and contrast that to how Pelosi & Reid rabidly supported the Obama agenda. Night and day.

Thank you Jim. I hope he heeds your words. This was the main reason I decided to vote for him a full year before the election. Everyone thought I was crazy for it too. I have worked for years and sacrificed much free time to find other lazy bums getting better healthcare than me and for free. My healthcare had increased fromm 500 to 1600 a month and I was cancelled twice. I will feel betrayed if he goes along and doesn’t lead on this as he promised.

It reduces them to 0, but doesn't repeal the regs.

It's a defunding bill.

The title has already transferred to the GOP.

The instant that they gave Obama everything he wanted in 2015 showed pretty much everyone that they supported Obamacare 100% and wanted to keep it around as a campaign platform.

They never had any intent to repeal, and even if Ryancare IS Trump’s plan—yuck—it’s still further than I expect any establishment goon to go.

Sent this to the White House yesterday.

Dear Mr. President.

It has come to my attention that you are backing the Paul Ryan health care bill. That is of grave concern to me.

I spent the last 21 months defending you, explaining each position in the best light possible to further your political aspirations to become our 45th president.

During that process, at times I focused on Obamacare and how your plan would be different. Now I find myself having to defend against the reports you are supporting Paul Ryan’s Obamacare2, which many are now calling it.

Mr. President, if you do this, you will have destroyed your credibility, my credibility, and the credibility of millions of people who defended you when you said, “We will end Obamacare shortly after I am elected.”

Ryan’s bill does not end Obamacare. It merely moves Obamacare from being a Democrat liability, to a Republican one.

Ryan’s bill moves it from being a weight around Obama’s neck, to a weight around your neck.

Ryan’s bill is still a big government mandate. Big government mandates are ways politicians promise much to get votes. End it.

I say this as respectfully as I can, but Mr. President, you must drop support for Ryan’s boondoggle, and place that support on the Rand Paul plan.

All Republicans on Capital Hill backed that Rand Paul plan last year.

End Obamacare. Kill it like you promised. That’s what Rand Paul’s plan does.

Government should have nothing at all to do with health care. NOTHING!

Our credibility is on the line here, and everyone who supported you is watching.

Thank you for your time.

Ron Doughty

And their is no evidence Trump will do that. So far he has been tip toeing through the tulips regarding Congress. Deferring to Ryan and McConnell at seemingly every turn. The fact is Trump can’t afford a fight with the GOP Congress with the Dems-media nuking him on a daily basis.

Very wise advice.

Republicans in both houses need to understand the revenge of voters will be a lot worse if they undermine the Trump agenda than if they harelip the Dims and fellow travelers by just ditching the whole thing.

Excellent point. Pence was in KY pushing it as a little slap at Paul and Trump was there last week.

Exactly.

Trump can do a LOT on his own, but there’s a fedzilla majority in both houses of Congress fighting against him, and they desperately want to keep and expand Obamacare.

This crap bill may be the best we can do at the moment. And hopefully it goes down in flames along with its author, but I personally don’t expect anything better to come out of it.

President Trump says he’ll primary the Freedom Caucus members who obstruct the Ryan bill.

This is the opportunity of a lifetime, but Trump is a liberal Republican. No surprise to me, just severe disappointment.

One caveat, why does it have to be local and state to pick up the destitute, why not charities. It used to be that way and worked quite well. Why does everything have to be so complicated.

“RINO-Ryan-care!!!!”

TRAITORcare!!!
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
I had LyinRyan pegged way before the election as a stinking low-life Rat Bast*ard who I would not trust to walk my dog around the block. He’s at the very top of the list of the most despicable legislators ever to set foot on Capitol Hill, and if President Trump allows himself to be duped by Ryan on this junk legislation he will regret it for the rest of his life.

Wasn’t Obamacare passed as budget reconciliation in the Senate (thus only needing 51 votes)?

A key component of Ocare was forcing insurance companies to accept those with prexisisting conditions. That destroys a core fundamental principle of insurance. Ocare destroyed insurance and replaced it with health care. Trump supports this key component of Ocare. This is a debate over health care spending and taxation which no conservatives or republicans will ever win.

This is Trump’s baby. By proclaiming he wants kid care until 26 and that he wants prexisiting conditions accepted he ceded the debate.

Please tell me why he wouldn’t sign this? He is pressing for it.

Everyone heard Trump say repeal and replace. Did anyone ask him what his replacement plan was? Oh, that did happen and his answer was “it will be a wonderful plan”.

For me It’s about what I thought he would deliver. I ask for two things immigration control and SC picks. He is delivering. Anything g else is gravy.

Good point ...also it’s not like it can’t be tweaked down the road if part of it ends up being unsatisfactory .. unlike Obama , Trump is always willing to change things for the better if a problem arises ...I don’t understand the hysteria here
