Yessir - the handwringing around here has reached epic proportions lately - egged on by a still-present cadre of never-Trump trolls. If people are sincerely upset and really feel the need to "do something", they need to be burning up the phone lines to their congress critters, like right now.

As Louis Gohmert points out Complete Repeal passed House and Senate, under the Byrd rule(!), in 2015 with all then serving GOP members voting for it. Obama vetoed it, but it got through the Senate Reconciliation rules. So all this about needing 60 votes and 3 steps is proven nonsense.

Just repeal it, replacing it with status quo ante. Since all on our side say Obamacare made things worse, just repeal makes it better. Since W did little or nothing on healthcare status quo ante is essentially Bill Clinton's rules. Remind the left of that when THEY complain. Our side should then say status quo ante is better, but not 'good.' Then push as many changes from that as the GOP can accomplish and run for additional changes in 2018.

You have written an excellent letter, Jim. I haven’t read all the responses, but I sure hope you sent it to President Trump:

Jim, have sent your letter to my list...you are Spot on! If Obamacare were muddled before, the 'repeal' is twice as muddled with Ryan and other politicians 'explaining' how this is not Obamacare.

If you have an address or fax number for Kellyanne Conway...send her your letter. Thanks,
yoe

Why wasn’t the free market already swooping in and providing something far better for a lot less money?

President Trump is all for repeal and replace. Willing to give to the middle ground on this one. Sorry, he will sign something that has replacement in it and it will still have FERAL Government controls and mandates in it.

We the People will lose on this one big time as with immigration. He will grant amnesty to 40 million illegal invaders who have been on the dole sucking the milk of America out of our grandchildren's mouth. I believe they call them dreamers and then we will see the wave of new "immigrants" (I still call them invaders) from all of their relatives, like aunts, uncles and cousins.

Same punch bowl different turd

I’ve probably watched 50 Trump rallies and he said “repeal and replace Obamacrae” in every one of them. It was in his platform and it is what he intends to do.

You are exactly correct and I just pointed this out to the Boss. There were very few that ran on completely repealing Obamacare (Cruz and Paul) which needs to be done. The FERAL Government needs to be as far away as possible from healthcare as possible.

The old saying, control the money control half the man, control his health control the other half.

Agreed Jim. It is essentially a sell out to the insurance lobby, putting America back on the path of rising health care costs.

Get rid of the state lines and open the competative market.

Mr Robinson,

I have been told or led too believe the replacement for the disaster we all know as Obamacare is to be in three parts.

As I am only aware of the first part being presented at this time and working it’s way through the Congress, perhaps you can inform me (us) of the contents of the remaining two parts as yet to be presented(at least not that I am aware of).

Thanks

Trump is negotiating. That’s all.

He will let the parties in Congress fight it out before he interjects himself.
*********************************************************

Exactly and despite all the times we have seen him do things such as this there are always the “sky is falling”, gloom and doomers screeching how “we’re all gonna die”, and, “it’s all over now” and on and on and on.

The thing that worries me about this Jim, is that the President is now in a “cocoon” and only hears what his advisors say at this point.
On the other hand, he seems to be connected to the internet. Let’s hope he hears your advice. Some have speculated that he is indeed a FReeper.

The GOP doesn’t get it and seems Trump is missing it too. The GOP was swept into Congress big time in 2010 on the promise they would stop Obamacare. Even Ted Kennedy’s seat was given to the GOP that year. The GOP lost that fight - even though no GOP votes went for it - in the lame duck session after the election when Reid and Pelosi and Obama bribed its way into passage before the GOP took control.

And ever since they have promised repeal. They have promised other reforms. Yet with control of Congress they have done nothing they promised. They could have sent a repeal bill to Obama - let him veto it. At least then they would have fulfilled a small part of their promise and shown themselves worthy of support.

The reason Trump knocked off 16 other challengers in the GOP primary is because the base is sick and tired of GOP politicians. They promise one thing at election time and then go back to business as usual. Trump is President because the people - not just GOP voters - are tired of the deceit. They want action on the promises they made. They chose Trump because they hoped he would not be just another snake in the grass politician.

They need to have their feet held to the fire. They need to come through. One thing Trump’s election should be telling them is that there are alternatives. Just because GOP base won’t vote for a Democrat doesn’t mean the base will vote for a GOP. They can suffer primary defeats. They can be challenged by independents or by outsiders. If an outsider can win the office of POTUS then an outsider can win any congressional district and any senate seat. The GOP backslid for years and had Obama to blame. No more. It’s put up time for the GOP. Drain the swamp by unclogging the pipes cluttered with these destructive laws.

Your comments are truly a breath of fresh air on this site. You are espousing true conservative instincts. If anyone other than you posted this they would be quickly attacked and demeaned by near cultists. I dont think I need to define who they are as they self identify. It would be great if every elected rep would begin every sentence with - As a reminder, this nation is $20 trillion in debt, ...........
Thank you Jim Robinson.

Trump can end all the homobamacare exemptions right now without Congress. Making DC critters eat their own vomit would compel them to repeal it, now that they themselves are forced to buy it, faster than anything else.
