For some people, "early bird gets the worm" is a life motto. To them, "fashionably" late is not a thing.
These people are "on-timers," and they have unique habits that make them who they are.
Seeing as showing up late is disrespectful, and can negatively affect your career as well as your relationships, it may be time to take a page out of their book.
Here are 10 habits that make punctual people tick.

I’m pretty much all of those things but I do procrastinate. I multitask well.
Me too. And if I KNOW I’m going to be late, I let folks know. If I’m late, usually it means something is wrong.
Me too. It's my wife who's always late....
1. Promptness
2. Punctuality
I'm fairly sure there's more to it than that. I'll get to it later.
The only time I think it is actually an issue is when we're invited to parties and she works it so we show up a little early so she can offer to help the hostess and (1) they are clearly not expecting people to actually show up yet and aren't ready for it and (2) we're the only people there and they feel obliged to entertain us rather than doing what they planned to get ready. I think that's far more rude than being fashionably late (which isn't rude at all, actually) and I wish she could get over that compulsion in that one social instance.
I agree about not being able to count on people who are chronically late. On the other hand, obsessive compulsive people generally are only good for low level jobs and lack useful creativity. I was often late when I was young but as I matured I learned that something usually comes up and I need to allow for it.
Hahaha, next week right lol
LOL
One flip side: those hosting the event must start on time. Waiting for late ones to arrive is disrespectful to those who made the effort to not be late.
My current manager is quite firm with our teleconferenced team: he gives one minute after the indicated start time for everyone to arrive (not everyone’s clocks are set exactly the same), then begins. If he the host is more than 4 minutes late, the event is considered canceled.
Having gotten used to that, anyone who _doesn’t_ start their meeting on time - like the guy I’m waiting on right now - is quite irritating.
MY take on this is “Mike” had an extended stay-over drunk shack up in his apartment and didn’t have any time left but 15 minutes to bang out this tired old tripe....
I’m surprised his editor bought off on it, frankly.
One On Mother Angelica
Another On Mother Teresa
Yet Another On St Bernadette of Lourdes

It depends on the job. Also, being on time isn’t really a sign of crippling OCD. As you stated, it’s just a sign of maturity since it is childish to expect the world to wait for you.
Same here, always on time. Drives me nuts if I think I’m going to be late for something business related.
I am also on time and hate to be kept waiting so I certainly don’t fit into all of the “good” things mentioned in the article. Of course, I always have a book with me because other people generally keep me waiting.
Oh, well, 9 out of 10 is not that bad. How can I expect to remember everyone’s birthday when I choose to forget mine?
Yes, there is a big difference between being dependable (including being on time) and obsessing about things that dependable people do. I’ve worked with both kinds.
I “try” but don’t always succeed in getting in on time. I’ve been a latenik most of my life. That takes a toll in one way but since I generally stick around afterwards too it has been an advantage in other ways. Sometimes we benefit from taking enough time to just stop and think. Clocks are sometimes just suggestions.
One of the points from the article discusses this from the vendors POV.....
They appreciate down time
Since on-timers spend a lot of time waiting for other people, either because they’re early or others are late, they don’t mind waiting. They either come prepared for this downtime, or use it effectively.
I’m late. Did I miss anything?
