The value that slaves created was mostly consumed by the lifestyles of the plantation owners. The remainder was destroyed in the devastation of the Civil War.

Only a handful of Mexicans were present in the Southwest and California when they became part of the United States: the rest came for opportunities after the country was developed.
So, yeah, whites did build the country.

And so, until “God-ism” prevails in a land — this land, to come back to our immediate concern — we are going to have a clash of “What race has the bragging rights?” BLM is one ugly form of that. The answer should be that God has the bragging rights, and whoever yields soonest to Him is the first one to win! No matter if that is the proverbial green Martian. (Or good Samaritan, etc.)
Without God creating the world and patiently addressing the needs and burdens of sinful souls... we’d nave no tower at all. Just the dung field of hell.
If by historical happenstance, white people happened to bring blessings, they should be humble and look at Who bestowed those blessings, and diligently seek to share His knowledge to every corner of the land, without caring what race hears it.

I believe this is the best response. Define what white people. Irish being starved, chased off their land. Millions dead whole families disappeared to death and legal immigration. Polish, German, but black is not a nationality ... we have taken many legal immigrants who wanted to join the American experience and country. We will not take the illegal criminal parasites! It’s not fair or safe for the legal immigrants.

I believe white people were too lax in not being diligent to erase actual racist structures, and that from a moral and religious level. The legal level is clumsy, and can have a terrible aftermath.
The fervent Southern Baptist Convention — which is no slouch in many things and in fact embraces the church where I currently go — had a fly in its ointment for far, far too many years. Bowing down at that point to man rather than God, it said race based chattel slavery was a good thing. It wasn’t. The rationalization was that it brought Africans to hear the gospel. But this is what missionaries are for. The silver lining may ameliorate the dark cloud but we really don’t want the dark cloud. Anyhow, God personally rejoiced when it purged that item from its official records.
