Michael Moore Launches Website With Goal To Remove Trump From Office

Michael Moore launched a website Monday with the goal of having President Donald Trump removed from office.

The 62-year-old filmmaker announced on his Facebook page the start of the “Resistance Calendar” website. The website promotes any kind of anti-Trump event across all fifty states that is geared to “stop the Trump madness.”

“GOOD NEWS FRIENDS,” Moore wrote in the lengthy post. “I’ve promised you a one-stop site, a clearinghouse of all actions–a RESISTANCE CALENDAR–where you can find EVERY upcoming action, protest, march, sit-in, town hall, anti-Trump, pro-democracy event in all 50 states! A site where YOU can post your own action so all can see it.”

“A place where you can quickly go and check it daily, ensuring that you don’t miss any event in your area to stop the Trump madness,” he added. “So, right now, I and a team of graphic designers are launching the RESISTANCE CALENDAR!”

If you really think about it Trump’s agenda is a nationalistic one that Democrats traditionally embrace. Proposing to limit America’s involvement in foreign engagements. Taking on multinational corporations to keep jobs and their investments here. Appealing to working class people of all races. Moore even alluded to some of these things during the campaign. Have fun Michael. You’re going nowhere with this.

Good luck trying to do that. The process to remove the President in the USA is a VERY complex one, and it's not like in a parliamentary representative republic, where a vote of no-confidence can bring down a government. In short, forget about a Purple Revolution-style change.

I'm currently having this debate with a loony left relative who seriously believes that Trump will be impeached within a year. After speaking with her, it became blatantly obvious that she didn't have the slightest idea how impeachment and removing a President actually worked (as I'm guessing most on the left don't), they think it's something like a judicial case where if a President does "something wrong" the Impeachment process is automatically triggered and then a Judge removes the President. As I explained to her, nothing automatically triggers impeachment. President Trump could steal all the gold in Fort Knox and it would still be at Congress's discretion to start impeachment proceedings, or not.

So of course, her reply is that Trump will do or say something so horrible that Congress will have too impeach him. So I remind her that Republicans are in charge of both houses, no articles of impeachment can even be considered unless Paul Ryan allows it. Then it would take a majority in the House and 2/3 or 67 votes in the Senate to remove him. So my question to her was, "Tell me which Republican members of Congress and the Senate are going to throw away their careers by telling the 90% of Republican voters, voters they will need next election, that they got it wrong on election day and they are removing the President they just voted in to office..."
