A Manhattan Private School Cancels Skating Party at Trump Rink
Town and Country Magazine ^ | February 17, 2017 | Sam Dangremond

Posted on 02/21/2017 5:29:05 AM PST by Jim Noble

Dalton parents reportedly refused to send their kids to the party in protest of the president

This is a story—like so many Upper East Side stories—that has its origins in the weird and wild 1980s. During that decade, the city of New York had promised to renovate Central Park's Wollman Rink in two years, but the beloved landmark remained closed instead for six. In stepped Donald Trump, who convinced Mayor Ed Koch to let him finish the work in four months as long as he could manage the venue.

Trump made good on his side of the deal, and Wollman Rink is still managed by the Trump Organization today.

But the association with our new president apparently didn't sit well with an elite Manhattan private school that counts Anderson Cooper and Claire Danes among its alumni.

According to the New York Post, the Dalton School canceled its annual skating party, "Dalton on Ice," because "parents refused to send their kids in protest of the president."

A spokesperson from the Dalton Parents Association told T&C that "the event was canceled solely due to lack of interest based on feedback from many families."

A Dalton parent contacted by T&C who spoke on condition of anonymity said that "at Dalton, nothing is done without careful consideration for all parties."

"Basically, they do this annual event to build community," the parent said, "and this year because of Trump creating ire among so many, [the parents association] just thought it would be a poor decision to host the event there. Their feeling was, if you're instead building division and controversy then you're defeating the purpose of the event."

The parent characterized Dalton as "definitely a progressive school," and said "it's a very diverse community."

"It's so easy to find something else, so why do it in a place that has any smell of controversy?" the parent added. "How difficult is it to find an alternative venue without the controversy and ickiness attached to it?"

Let's just call it what it is......collective obsessional behavior or mass hysteria for short.

It is a phenomenon that transmits collective delusions of threats, whether real or imaginary, through a population in society as a result of rumors and fear.

In sociology and psychology, mass hysteria is also known as collective hysteria, group hysteria or, in laymen's terms, a big bunch of whining, juvenile crybabies.

Fine - I tell you what - we’re gonna name every business after Trump. Every park, every street corner, even change the names of the days to Trump 1 thru Trump 7.

Then the snowflakes will retreat and withdraw into tiny balls trying desperately not to “get any on them”.

I like it! Let’s take it a step further and rename food after Trump.

No more chicken and dumplings – now it’s Chicken and Trumplings!
Goodbye, dump cake! Say hi to Trump Cake!
And is that a rump roast on sale? Nope, it’s Trump Roast now!

Snowflake heads will explode faster than you can count.

Trump is “icky”.

Yes. He’s from Queens. He moved to the city, and acted like he owned it. Eventually, he did, more or less.

But, he’s still from the outer boroughs. Icky, icky, icky.

Good news. More Conservatives are created.

All the kids want to do is have fun and skate, and all they know is that their psychotic parents won’t let them.

They’re definitely disconnected from reality. Had a friend recently told me about a guy he knows who vehemently hates Trump. (Is there any other way?) Said the guy was bitching about his wife’s insurance premiums being so high with a huge deductable. My friend said “Didn’t she have great insurance before Obamacare.”. He said the guy just gave him a blank stare.

“Liberal parents at The Dalton School reportedly refused to send their kids in protest against the president, forcing the school to pull the plug on the event.”

The above is a caption of an article from two days ago put up by the Daily Mail Online, but since taken down.

The school tuition is greater than $40,000 per year and the school is held up as one the most prestigious which is probably overrated by lying progressive liberal.

The ethos of the school is that progressives in parental ranks control all political indoctrination. In this case, a few liberal parents made a phone call and the kids are denied a winter treat in a beautiful setting.

It would be a good idea for rank and file Trump supporters from Staten Island to make a loud protest outside Dalton and also where they decide to take the kids in lieu of the Wollman Rink which the Trump Organization operates in Manhattan. The kids would benefit to learn their parents are disrespectful to the working American public. Let that thought plant seeds of revolt for a future marginalization of Manhattan uber-liberalism. It’s a long shot and seemingly trivial but it’s a first step in taking them down.

The protest could have themes of wealthy liberal elites denigrating America’s working class. If this is done loudly, the kids will remember their parents are unpopular which will go a long way in turning the tide. Other themes could be that Dalton supports migration of terrorists and rapists into America. Protest Dalton’s enslavement of young minds to political correctness. Set their liberal attitudes on fire.

Yes! Perfect scenario. “Diverse” children skating for free at the Trump rink in Central Park while Joy sings! and lots of media coverage ...

The one private school here is pitiful. Hoity toity parents are paying for good report card grades rather than an education. Kids coming out of it and trying to enroll in public school usually are sent back a grade level.

Remember that sicko woman who posted on her social media how horrified she was that Ivanka’s little Theodore would be in her precious’ kindergarten class next year.

Watched a documentary of one private school in New York where it was across street from section 8 housing. The school was proud that they offered 5 scholarships to the kids across the street. 40k tuition. Liberal elitists feeling good about lettibg few poor kids in a year.

Herd mentality is a new lefty paradigm. In the 60s the lefties like SDS were imaginative and often spontaneous. Today?... Think back to Occupy Wall Street and the mic check phenomenon. Guy with a mike would yell mic check and if would be like the Brides of Fu Manchu when Christopher Lee entered the room. The Occupiers would wait to be told what to chant. It’s sad really. Back in college I used to drink with some of the SDSers. They were intelligent, articulate and humorous, if misdirected. Heck they even played a yearly touch football game with the ROTC Pershing Rifles. Today’s brand are like the Garbage Pail Kids from Sunday night’s latest Walking Dead episode. Now this herd hysteria is spreading to adults with kids. Sad.
