Original story
DELPHI, Ind. (WLFI) Multiple Carroll County law enforcement officers are continuing to follow up on possible leads that could lead them to two missing girls. The girls were last seen near the Monon High Bridge Trail in Delphi Monday afternoon.
Liberty German, 14, and Abigail Williams, 13, went missing Monday. The girls were last seen near an abandoned railroad bridge, known as the Monon High Bridge around 1 p.m.
Were just praying for their safe return, said Libertys grandfather Mike Patty. Im upset and confused. Obviously, very distraught. Im just worried. All I want to do is have the girls get home safe.
The girls were dropped off near the bridge to walk around and hang out. They had made arrangements to be picked up by a family member later in the afternoon. But when the time came for the girls to be picked up, they never showed up.
Abigails mom, Anna Williams, has spent hours at the Carroll County Sheriffs Office, just hoping to hear her little girl is OK.
Im getting scared now, said Anna Williams. Its getting cold and theyve been out a long time. I dont know what time they ate last.
The girls havent answered their phones since around the time they went missing.
Missing, abducted, we dont know for sure, said Patty. The cellphone has been pinging around town and here there is a cellphone tower but the ping was last noted around five to six hours ago. And they say the phone is now dead.
The last Snapchat from one of the girls was from 2:07 p.m. on Monday.
I saw the texts where they got delivered, but they never got read, said Patty.
Williams said, Its a very scary situation right now and I just want her home.
Other people from the community say they wont stop looking even if it takes all night.
Based on information learned from friends and family members, Leazenby said investigators do not suspect foul play. They have no information to believe the girls are in any kind of danger, other than being exposed to outside elements.
Leazenby said investigators looked into having an Amber Alert issued. They were informed this event does not meet the criteria set by state guidelines to have an alert issued.

Feel very bad about that tragedy, how could it have happened?
This story has been on every central Indiana news outlet 24/7 since it happened. And law enforcement has put every resource on the investigation.
There was a grainy picture posted of a man who was on that same trail. I’m guessing somebody has already ID him,
Bess these children and their families. It is devastating to the entire nation. Who is he?
A small farm town in Central IN. There is no place that is safe anymore.
” how could it have happened?”
The girls were dropped off near the (abandoned) bridge to walk around and hang out.
Yep...14 and 13 YO girls dropped off to hang out at some abandoned bridge?. What could go wrong? Wow. Btw, the bridge in the pic looks like something out of a horror movie.
My daughter lived in Delphi for a few years. Quiet town. Not uncommon to see an Amish buggy going down the road. A YMCA day camp just outside of town.
Evil is everywhere. No one drops their daughters off for an afternoon walk & expects to next see them in the morgue.
Update added to article
Riley said they have received more than 200 calls about the photo they released earlier this week. They still have not identified the person in the picture.
There never was such a thing as a safe place save where people stood by actively making it so. It is and was just an illusion otherwise.
My young granddaughters live there now.
Unfortunately, evil knows no zip code
Way too many pedo pervs out there.
Suspect photo, released earlier.
That was always the case. They’re just more open about it now and better connected.
Before you (or someone else) protests that there were safe zones and this didn’t happen back in the 50s/60s/70s, keep in mind that this song came out in 1972 and it had to have been based on events that happened earlier. What we’re seeing is anything but new, it’s just that we’re paying more attention and more suspicious these days.

Lyrics:
Now I’m going to tell you about Sweet Mary Meek
Known for her loveliness
Young and quite a treat, yeah
She was known to wander by the creek
The pride of the prudes, Little Mary Meek
Yeah, yeah
Something happened to make the townfolk speak
‘Cause little Mary’s been gone now for over a week
Everybody says “Where can Mary be?”
Well I got Mary Meek and I won’t set her free
No. Oh no.
I’m Pete the Bondage Freak
I hide in the bushes down by the creek
I found Mary Meek and I won’t let her go
Yeah... that was a phenomenon well enough known to be in a popular song in *1972*. There’s also this infamous 1957 case that, well, circumstantially seems to indicate something about this bad. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boy_in_the_Box_(Philadelphia)
So tragic. What a horror the girls must have suffered and now their families. The killer should get the electric chair or whatever they use in Indiana.
