Crews may be fixing shattered windows and covering “Kill Trump” messages that pockmark the UC Berkeley campus after more than 1,000 people protested a Milo Yiannopoulos speech on Wednesday, but the campus community is still very much on edge.

Two men were caught on camera attacking a supporter of President Donald Trump on the university’s periphery.

Jack Palkovic says he was wearing a “Make America Great Again” cap and on his way to class Thursday when a white SUV slammed to a stop and two young men ran toward him. One of the men screamed an epithet, grabbed Palkovic's hat and pummeled him before the two got back in the vehicle and tried to drive away.

Police arrived, blocked their escape and arrested both men. Palkovic said he is a member of the college Republicans.

A UC Berkeley student described the ongoing violence as an aftershock of the protest that forced officials to nix the controversial Breitbart editor’s speech, order students to shelter in place and put UC Berkeley on lockdown.

Pictures and videos from the chaotic scene showed protesters – who university officials say were not students – lobbing rocks and fireworks at buildings, setting fires, breaking down police barriers, and smashing windows of banks and other Shattuck Avenue businesses. Fights broke out, a few people were hit with pepper spray, and a handful reported being injured, according to witness accounts.

On Thursday, students expressed anger that outsiders had trashed their campus — and their university's reputation.

Separately, Mike Cernovich, whose website describes him as an Orange County-based lawyer, author and documentary filmmaker, reached out on Twitter to people who were victims of “violence at the Berkeley riots.”

“We are reaching out to lawyers for a civil rights lawsuit,” he said. It remains unclear, however, who he plans to sue – UC Berkeley, the city itself or the Berkeley Police Department.

An article in Breitbart said that someone leaked to the public where Yiannopoulos and his team were staying, prompting his “Dangerous Faggot Tour” bus to get vandalized. A photograph shows that “Not my president” was spraypainted on the side of the vehicle.

Yiannopoulos was invited by the campus Republican club to speak at UC Berkeley. Members and others who were keen to hear his take on cultural appropriation claim that free speech met a fiery end at a university that has been known as the home of the Free Speech Movement.

Social media posts show people who were affected or injured during the protests blaming the Berkeley Police Department for not coming to their aid. Yiannopoulos even went so far as to claim university officials were “complicit” in the violence.

"One thing we do know for sure: the Left is absolutely terrified of free speech and will do literally anything to shut it down," Yiannopoulos said on Facebook after being evacuated from UC Berkeley.

For his part, Berkeley Mayor Jesse Arreguin is facing backlash for labeling Yiannopoulos a “white nationalist.”

He later amended his comments by tweeting, “I consider much of what Mr. Yiannopoulos says to be hateful. But I regret and apologize for the white national label.”

The last Bay Area Trump-related melee occurred in June after a campaign rally in downtown San Jose. Fourteen Trump supporters filed a civil rights lawsuit, accusing the city’s police department of failing to protect them.

For those of you who don’t know me, I have extensive history and connections in leftist activism from previous movements, but I’m essentially a pariah now because I split with them when the the SJWs seized power from the older relatively moderate activists and went full authoritarianism. None the less.. I’m still in all those social circles and I see the discussions going on behind the scenes.

After a long progression, and seeing how things have settled out after the Trump election: We’re headed for rebellion and possibly a full blown civil war. I’ve always been skeptical of that largely because neither side would be willing to fire the first shot. That is no longer the case. There is universal calls for, planning of, and efforts to conduct warfare within the left right now. And I don’t mean that in the metaphorical sense. They are raising their army.

What’s always held the left back in the past is that they knew they could never win in a violent conflict. Both because of a lack of skill, experience, and equipment, but also because of internal disagreement on tactics; being that most within the left would not engage in violence because they believed the greatest strategy was to hold the moral high ground and ruin support and assistance to their opponents. This is no longer the case.

Within the left the pacifists have been solidly silenced by a massive propaganda effort and intimidation (expressing even remotely pacifist views within the left right now can put you in physical danger and in danger of losing things like employment and other social and economic needs). Even people who were extremely vocal and dedicated absolute pacifists, are now reduced to at the very least openly providing passive support for political violence. At this point ‘punching NAZIs’ is all the rage. They’ve managed to dehumanize their political opponents so that’s no longer considered wrong to physically harm them. They’re all looking for a NAZI to punch. And right now anyone who does it perfectly mirror their political views, is a NAZI. And it’s already primed to move into ‘killing NAZIs.’’

And of course the biggest limiting factor is that they have known that they do not stand a chance against a well armed and sufficiently skilled political rights and moderates. After countless efforts to disarm the right in order to reduce it to an inferior fighting force, the AnComs and such have moved to arming themselves. It is no longer a social taboo. Everyone accepts it as a necessary evil. But beyond the arms, the turning point on this front is that they now universally believe themselves to have such a massive majority of the population backing them that they have a significant military advantage. This due to propoganda efforts (the same ones that told them Hillary was going to win in a landslide) and because of a massive mobilization network. They believe they can mass so many people at one location so quickly that they can overwhelm defenders and seize their resources, disperse, and then strike again repeatedly until the right has been defeated.

I’ve never been so worried about a civil war as I am right now. And with my pariah status I’m concerned I worry I may very well become a target. It’s enough that I’m out of the political debate for safety reasons, just like a couple years ago I had to pull out of street protesting for the same reason.

What I expect at this point is something that will play out on a very similar path as the 2014 Ukrainian revolution.

As I have been saying and this report confirms, these “protesters” are not Berkeley students. Now-a-days UCB is a school of eggheads who get very good grades and certainly don’t beat people, throw Molotov Cocktails or break into and trash businesses. Berkeley students are not the same as those in the 60s and 70s.

What you saw in this riot were the same thugs from Occupy Oakland, BLM Oakland, the Trump rally where they threw an egg at a women and spit on several people, and the after election protests where one women was on video screaming that people will lose their lives in the war against Trump.

These are mercenary thugs, rabble-rousers who show up at protests to start the mayhem, turning a protest into a riot. While students may have been around to see what the fuss was about. Maybe some carried signs. The people who made the news reels had nothing to do with the University. So don’t go after the school. Figure out who these people are and get them behind bars. Project Veritas has videos on some of their leaders. These people go from riot to riot. Its organized crime.
