The Washington Post has retracted its story about Russian hackers penetrating the nation’s electricity grid with a virus found in a Burlington, Vt., electric company laptop.

“Authorities say there is no indication of that so far [that Russians had penetrated the US electric grid],” according to an editor’s note attached to a corrected version of the story on the paper’s Web site.

“The computer at Burlington Electric that was hacked was not attached to the grid,” the editor’s note read.

News of the supposed hack had set off a firestorm of recriminations, with Vermont leaders calling Russian President Vladimir Putin “a thug” earlier Saturday, after one of the state’s electric utilities found a virus on a laptop computer.

Where was the outrage, the finger pointing, the retaliations, when China hacked the US GOVERNMENT a couple of years ago? Why are Obama and the media treating the alleged hack of the DNC and John Podesta as far worse than the hack of the federal personnel records of 4 million employees?

” Will all of the MSM outlets that ran with the lie also retract it? “

almost none of them will retract - they’ll simply let stand as is the original fake news they published.

Yeah, that is the wrong test for process control systems. What needs to be done is to test the process control systems from being attackable from the outside.

Some of these IT people are too clever by half. Their stuff collapses and wrecks.

Yes, and the media and the left know it will stay that way (the lie being known by the general public but not the truth), as shown by them continuing to use Shepard as a “martyr” to the sodomite cause.

But how many people have ever heard of Jesse Dirkhising? 13 yo boy tortured, raped, and murdered by two sodomites.

I agree with that. There is a high correlation between those that do not believe that Jesus is the Son of God ( thus saved) and leftists. Anyone with discerning spirits as a gift knows. You can just look at them.

Leaving them wide open to the inevitable “Shame on you” that will come from the Donald Trump bully pulpit.

That is their strategy, and it’s been very effective.

They put out thousands of #fakenews stories, such as the “hate crime” hoaxes. They spread throughout the entire media system, are yammered about endless by the usual suspects in politics, and then when they are exposed as hoaxes, no one apologizes, and all most people remember is the charge, not that it turned out to be a hoax.

Well yes, Jesus gives the gift of a sound mind, among other things.

This is why we need to be careful not to make it about ourselves, which is a super easy sin to fall into. We don’t need to sabotage that, unintentionally or otherwise.

We want to make it about the power and grace and glory and capability of the Lord, which happens to include saving wretched sinners.

I don’t know what the hell they were doing.

It was on a couple of Blog posts where I put up chapters of a book I was writing (and have completed by the way) called “Clarion Call.”

And since you asked, it IS a great book. It is the story of, well coincidence of coincidence now that I type this, the nationwide electrical grid going down.

all the politicians disappeared and the story is how Americans, without benefit of any elected people, manage to get the grid up and running again.

After about two weeks getting the electrical grid working Americans wanted nothing to do with the politicos suddenly showing up when it was deemed safe.

The people started a whole new government and that’s what the book is about.

Anyway, had a lot of Freepers reading this book. Clarion Call, by the way, was a company kind of like Uber, composed or ordinary citizens doing something they are good out via this company’s app. If you bake cakes, Clarion Call puts out a call for cake bakers....cake bakers respond.

Like that.

With no electricity, Americans, on their own and with the help of the talent database of Clarion Call, get the country up and running again.

Hey, it’s a good book and yeah, I had about 800-900 hits every time I put up a chapter and most of them from Russia.

I finally closed it down because this was when the IRS was going after people and I figured I might be in trouble with this book the Russians so adored.

True story, I know it sounds odd.

Way I figure, the Russians have people that browse the Internet looking for strange stuff and hand to God, my Clarion Call book is really, really good.

Yeah I finished it.

This year I am going to publish it. If anybody wants I will send a link to a chapter.

Freaking yeah, THE RUSSIANS HACKED ME!!!

;)

You got that right! They ask me the dumbest questions like, “Can we take your systems down for an hour on Saturday night when no one is working.”

I answer, “Umm. This is a 24/7 utility. NO.”

“Also, was this “the Russians” or simply “Russians” that perpetrated this hack, such as it was?”

there never was an “attack”; all that happened was that someone at one of the two Vermont utilities found one piece of common malware on one laptop not connected to grid control, where said malware was written by some Russian hacker long ago, but now is used by thousands of hackers worldwide. Based on that, WaPo genned up the fake news that “Russians hacked the power grid” and the rest of the fake stream media instantly spread the fake news far and wide.

Washington Post has become the premier maker of fake news.

I believe it will change with Donald.

There will be a lot of come-to-Jesus’es, both political and spiritual, going on quite shortly.

It could be any number of things, and it might not even be driven by malice. It might be driven by curiosity.

I’d expect to see this if indeed the spirit of God is getting set to rise again in the world. Yes, there are a lot of Christians in Russia. Because they worship at Orthodox cathedrals doesn’t mean they haven’t been picked up by Jesus.

"It’s a good thing they have a real newsroom with editors so no fake stories get out!"

Right after the election, when the media were all-in on the "Trump-inspired hate crimes" theme, the Seattle Times ran an article claiming that there were 5,800 anti-Muslim hate crimes in the US last year. I knew that was way off, because I occasionally check the FBI hate crime statistics. The actual figure for anti-Muslim hate crimes was about 260; the 5,800 figure was the total of ALL hate crimes.

Why can a know-nothing like me immediately recognize an incorrect statistic, but no editor at the Seattle Times can recognize it?

Not even an attempt to look at it from a historical perspective, huh. This wasn’t even something new.

Well. Dear Lord help us. He’s all that can help us, when the institutions of men have gone this jabberwocky, but He’s also entirely sufficient to help us.

But you and I are saved from every Sin by the atonement and propitiation of Jesus sacrifice on the Cross. Past, Present and Future.

"Not even an attempt to look at it from a historical perspective, huh. This wasn’t even something new."

That's how I understand it - hacking is a constant and long-standing tradition among world powers (including the United States) - yet most of the news coverage creates the impression that this is something brand new, something unprecedented - and that only Russia is doing it.

And this false impression gains a foothold even amongst a public in which millions of people have been having problems with malware on their own computers for years.

The point seemed to be to hurl as much mud as possible at Donald Trump. If it even LOOKED bad, forget whether it really WAS bad, then it got hurled. This was the job of the loyal lefty foot soldiers.

Trouble was, it only made the loyal lefty foot soldiers obviously bad themselves. And when a voice comes along insisting upon looking at what is actually true, rather than at the illusion du jour, they are now faced with a choice. Come clean, or really and truly be left in the dust.

This looks uncommonly like the work of God. God is interested intensely both in truth in the face of lies and in striving to reconcile, but with the ultimate choice being placed on humanity. Knowing what men will do, does not absolve them of the onus or take away the reward for actually having done so. The same sun that softens the butter, hardens the clay. What attitude are you going to strike? is the question that comes to us from heaven.

That still is not an excuse, let alone a direction, to make it about ourselves.

Being pardoned for a sin — for the sin to be borne by Jesus — does not equate to the sin not having deleterious effects just the same. Jesus will mitigate those effects but will not entirely remove them.

And so, the more readily we learn to lean on the love of Jesus and leave our sin, the sooner we will begin to accumulate a real reward, becoming visible perhaps even now, but certainly manifest in heaven.

“God is not mocked.”
