Darkest before the dawn: How to prepare for President Trump (Moonbat Radicalism)
Salon ^ | 1/1/16 | Peter Dreier

The number of women, black, Asian and Latino officials elected this year reached an all-time high. Activists around the country — young and old, reformers and radicals — are now trying to figure out not only how to fight Trump and Trumpism, but also how to think strategically about building a powerful progressive movement based on action and informed by past and recent activism. Progressives should expect the unexpected, be agile and flexible and invest in rebuilding progressive organizations’ capacity.

So here is my 10-point “to do” list for fighting for working people.

1. Don’t forget: Trump does not have a mandate.

“Oh Noes, not the dreaded safety pins!!!”

Be sure to ask them if they’re wearing cotton or disposable ones.

Yea, well she probably should find a spokesperson that isn’t a sow.

It’s like when the Wendy’s commercials were featuring the real Wendy . . . fat Wendy. They had to find a skinny girl so they could keep hawking burgers. Nobody wanted to end up like Wendy.

Liking that. Liking that very much!

“Actually it is darkest in the middle of the night.”

Hmm... No, I think it’s darkest when you have your head up your ass.

In today’s climate, I think it will work for her. People want to see someone like them trying to lose.

I did WW 17 years ago, a couple years after my 4th was born to lose the baby weight and I know people doing it now but it’s a totally different program from what I gather.

I was surprised it was sold and that she bought it. I read about it over the last year or so but saw the commercials with her just recently.

Donald played to the rules, which dictate what constitutes a mandate. They want to play Calvinball on that. A hypothetical Donald Trump campaign to get a popular vote majority would look different, and would have left large swaths of blueneck areas out in the cold and tightly embraced redneck areas.

As it is, they probably bilk one another out of millions just fine.

Oh, OK. Well, let's do this:

1. Don’t forget: Trump does not have a mandate. Hillary Clinton won the popular vote by close to 3 million votes.

A useless data point. "The 49ers got 35 more yards in their 20-point loss to the Patriots!" And?

2. Challenge Trump’s nominees. Progressive activists, liberal watchdog groups and think tanks, congressional Democrats and responsible journalists have a rare opportunity, prior to and during the hearings, to challenge Trump’s Cabinet nominees and other high-level appointees as incompetent and unqualified.

Everyone's favorite Nevada senator dismantled your ability to do anything other than squeal in the press, which is what your side was going to do anyway. Your whining plus $1.50 will get you a cup of coffee. We'll still have the nominees.

3. Don’t normalize Trump. Journalists should not normalize Trump. They need to get over their addiction to reporting everything he says and persisting in the allegedly even-handed “he said/she said” formula that creates misleading reporting.

Yes, do not even attempt to cover the POTUS or find out what both sides say about an issue. Just be as one-sided as possible. That'll work wonders, just as it has before.

4. Focus on real people. Reporters should focus on how Trump’s rhetoric and policy ideas affect real people.

In other words, ramp up the sob stories. Yawn.

5. Protest and engage in civil disobedience. Anti-Trump rallies and demonstrations across the country on Inauguration Day should be just the beginning of an ongoing campaign of protest and civil disobedience to challenge and obstruct Trump’s initiatives.

In other words, keep up the rioting, destruction of property, assaulting Trump supporters, and general disruption of normal peoples' daily lives. Surely that'll win scores of people to your cause!

6. Oppose Trump’s infrastructure plan. The first major legislative battle is likely to be over Trump’s infrastructure plan.

Because it was great when Obama wanted to do it, but now it's pure evil? How exactly will you be able to sell that?

7. Obstruct Trump’s presidency. People who live in large blue states like California, New York, Washington, Minnesota and Illinois have a particular opportunity and responsibility to obstruct Trump’s presidency.

Isn't this a repetitive statement? What else are points 1-6 about? Besides, it's hard to do this when Trump's party owns Congress and most of the states' governorships and legislatures, and will soon own the SCOTUS, too. Trump's also managed to completely neuter the Old Media. Other than that, yeah, you're really positioned well to obstruct Trump's presidency.

8. Exploit Republican infighting. The progressive anti-Trump movement should take advantage of infighting among Republicans, conservatives and business groups.

You never had a better time than the 2016 primary season, and you still screwed the pooch. Good luck.

9. Mobilize for the next elections. Progressives and Democrats should start organizing now to win back the House and gubernatorial seats in 2018, laying groundwork to retake the Senate and the White House in 2020.

Yeah, vote or die....or something. Maybe get a hip celebrity to do some commercials? Maybe an amnesty agenda for illegal alie--oh, right.

10. Start presidential vetting now. Can Democrats find a presidential candidate who is both progressive and electable?

You think your own worthless party didn't start that process on November 9? You're really on it!

Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt, a close ally of the fossil fuel industry, is Trump’s nominee to head the Environmental Protection Agency. Pruitt is totally in sync with Trump’s views about climate change, which Trump has called a “hoax.” Both would like to severely weaken if not entirely dismantle the EPA and cancel America’s commitment to the Paris climate change accords.

It wasn't America's commitment. It was the anti-American "president"'s commitment.

So, essentially , the left is going to have a 4 year protest march.

They didn’t learn a thing from the election.

The darkest hour is just before the dawn.

Like a broken clock that is right twice a day, occasionally even Dimocrats are correct. Only this time, the darkness is caused by their president and the dawn is the rising of the Donald.

Winfrey has a stake in WW...that would be like having Bonnie and Clyde owning a stake of a bank, or the Mafia owning a security company.
