The United States on Thursday expelled 35 Russian diplomats and closed two Russian compounds in New York and Maryland in response to a campaign of harassment by Russia against American diplomats in Moscow, a senior U.S. official said on Thursday.

The U.S. official, speaking on condition of anonymity, told Reuters the Russian diplomats would be given 72 hours to leave the United States. Access to the two compounds will be denied to all Russian officials as of noon on Friday, the official added.

"These actions were taken to respond to Russian harassment of American diplomats and actions by the diplomats that we have assessed to be not consistent with diplomatic practice," the official told Reuters.

Amazing! Don’t deport any illegal immigrants but kick out the Russians!

I can't believe that a tech found some evidence that the DNC had been hacked, and then that tech and his bosses began to talk publically about it. Foolish I may be,but wouldn't it be better to keep quiet about it in all ways until I found someway to get enough information to try to locate the doer physically. Surely, as soon as they hear on TV that the russians are hacking us, the entire apparatus would quickly find its way to a permanent grave. If we kept it going we might be able to send false information to the doer. But we would never tell them we caught them doing something. Even the people who work for Big 0 know better than that.

Don’t expect a rational response.

Oh, so it appears the US can, after all, deport people quickly. These people have 36 hours to leave, lol.

If the Russians really did hack anything (which I doubt), there would be no footprints, as they are too good to leave traces.

If O and 17 agencies are saying there is “proof”, it means sloppy CIA staff put it there, which is really “rich”, since the CIA’s “job” for decades has been to lie and subvert elections in foreign countries to get the desired outcome.

Great comments. And btw, I do find it a bit odd.☺

Russia makes peace deal with Turkey and the same day Obama throws all the Russian diplomats out of the U.S.?

All this amnesia about the KGB, Cold War, Gulags, coupled with Barky’s narcissistic temper tantrum and desire to screw with Trump, and the McGraham twins looking for another fight, all this brings to mind James Donald at the very end of River Kwai, “Madness!!! Madness!!!”

The Russians are laughing at this little boy’s fake tantrum. Everybody knows what really happened here; no one voted for Hillary because she is not what the electorate wanted. She ran an awful campaign(remember those blue sunglasses?), she came off as smarmy and aloof. In short, an awful candidate. The Russians had nothing to do with Hillary’s drubbing.

All Hussein did was embarrass himself..

One factor mentioned is Obama has not released any information about attempts to hack Republican candidates and activities. Were there any, Republican leaders and Congresspeople will want that answer. There are already some key Republicans upset about the Russian activities and indicating they may not be too happy with Trump’s friendly attitude toward Putin. Remember Bush’s disillusionment after he thought he could read Putin’s eyes.

This also puts Russia and China on notice that any activities of their’s will be carefully watched for during our vulnerable transition of Presidents period. In addition at least one Republican has already pointed out that the next hack could be against Republicans. After all many countries prefer Democrats in office and love Obama. So why wouldn’t they try to get Democrats back in office if we let Russia get away with it. I believe it was also stated that 16 of our security agencies believe the Russians did hack.

Where was Clinton in 2013 and 2014. In 2013, Clinton had just returned from a month sick leave with a concussion and brain bleed. She spent January preparing for Kerry to take over the State Dept. and handed in her resignation on Feb. 1, 2013. As why Kerry and Obama did not act I have no idea.

The problem and excuse for Trump not becoming President will Trump’s refusal to put his assets into a blind trust as other presidents have done. This is going to be the big issue to play out in the next month. Would we end up with Pence then? Don’t know the law on that wrinkle.

I don’t see how whom I preferred in the Republican nomination matters. Unless you equate criticism of Putin with being disloyal to America and our institutions, or not backing the president or president elect, your comment is a weird tangent. These two facts are not mutually exclusive. Trump won on his own fair and square. Putin’s hackers tried to influence our election.

English is the only language I speak. When I chose it, I didn’t think knowing a foreign language would mean I was disloyal to the USA. I suppose criticizing Putin makes you think I’m a Spanish not a real American.

The DNCs network. They tried to hack the Republican network, too.
