The thought crossed my mind that the new administration’s children may be graded at a different standard than the others at a DC private school.
I understand that distinction, but I see it as a distinction without a difference in this discussion.
It is going to take someone’s time to teach (whether a parent or hired hand) and there is no getting around that, unless the child is an autodidact...which I would guess is not usually the case.
LOL, I understand that point all too well. My parents tried so hard to remediate my failing math scores (I had to go to summer school for many years with little success, the highest I could ever get was a ‘D’, but most of the time...’F’)
They even tried to hire a sailor to tutor me, but I remember just putting my head down on the desk and refusing to even listen to the poor guy.
Sigh.
If there is one single thing I love about being an adult, it is that I am not a child completely incapable of understanding math. Math made my entire childhood horrible in that respect (it wasn’t “horrible” overall, though).
How many tens of thousands of Zero/HRC minions will be forced out of DC soon, with no future employment options? The diaspora will be to whatever corrupt city payroll budgets can afford them. Isn’t there about to be a 40% decrease in student load in all these schools?
I suppose the ejected Liberals will wait until May to move and take their spawn with them, and the incoming admin families will be taking those pupils’ slots.
My wife homeschooled, my daughter’s started junior college at 13 and 14.
She could hire a tutor for a fraction of the price, and have better educated kids as a result.
Thank you for this insight. Very much appreciated.
The point of the schools that cost $30,000 - $50,000 per year is not the magnificent education, but the status and connections one gains.
It has, I think, the highest AP performance / student of any school in the country. No one, except the school newspaper, chronicles their sports prowess. They have sports, as a necessity to keep kids fit and blow of steam, but it's not a thing they pay much mind to.
Hahahahaha, love it! Years from now, as Ann Coulter would put it, this will be the liberal's "Via Dolorosa"!
I respectfully disagree. There is plenty of "faith" in government.
When Caroline Kennedy started school a classroom was created on the third floor of WH. They brought ten students to join her
solves a security problem as well
That kind of toughing can be easily provided in their educational upbringing, rather than submersion in a cancerous environment.
Bad idea of putting so many of the government officials' kids in the same place. Too big a target.
In fact, Freepers who live in lib areas should all go to bakeries and ask for a cake with Trump’s image for Inauguration Day!
I’m thinking DOE HQ would make a mighty fine school once the bureaucrats are cleared out
I agree. However, I think the real point is for the children to be in an elite environment.
There are so many cool ways now to learn math painlessly! I’m sorry for all you went through. I remember being taught over and over in middle school science. My mind couldn’t understand torque. And the tutoring professor after school was too touchy feely which did not help.
One of my sons (Patrick, the one who’s weirder than all the other weird sons) completed five grades of math in a year on Khan Academy. Now (just turned 15) he’s doing Algebra II, Pre-Calculus, and Linear Algebra, as well as three programming languages.
Just call him Sheldon ...
