Conway faces resistance in DC private school search: report
The Hill ^ | 12/28/2016 | Mark Jensch

President-elect Donald Trump’s future counselor said she is 'amused' by the chilled response she has received so far as she begins searching for a private school for her four children in Washington.

Kellyanne Conway is concerned her work for Trump may impact her school search upon relocating to the nation’s dark-blue capital, The New York Post reported Wednesday.

“I would not characterize myself as ‘worried’ so much as amused by the silence and sighs on the other end of the phone when friends and allies have made preliminary inquiries on my behalf,” she told the Post while visiting schools in the District.

Noting many private school handbooks and websites tout diversity and open-mindedness, Conway said: “For some, there is comfort in sameness." Conway also said she is surprised by “the flood” of people who have offered to help her family during its transition to D.C.

When asked if her family is also house hunting in D.C., Conway replied: “First things first."

A source told the Post that Conway is "asking everyone with connections to D.C. schools for help."

Trump announced Conway's new role as his counselor last week, adding she would work with senior leadership to help advance his administration’s goals.

“Kellyanne Conway has been a trusted advisor and strategist who played a crucial role in my victory,” he said in a Dec. 22 statement. "She is a tireless and tenacious advocate of my agenda and has amazing insights on how to effectively communicate our message."

D.C. voted for Hillary Clinton over Trump, giving her 90 percent of the vote.

we homes school and find your claim to be 100% false.

Do you home school? If not how do you know how much time it takes and how wonderful and helpful the rewards?

Do you even have school age children?

Honestly, I don’t understand your characterization of bwanandege’s post as 100% wrong, The_Republic_Of_Maine.

Granted, the comment about octagon soap and such was a just a tad snarky, but I think the underlying point is valid-it HAS to take a lot of time to home school a child, and I would say that is a valid point whether someone has children or not or has home-schooled or not.

Understand that I (and many others on this forum) have a huge amount of respect for those who do home school, and I do think the rewards are great, but you must concede it takes a good deal of time and effort to do it properly.

Even for a child who is an autodidact, it has to take time.

I can readily understand the effort-vs-benefit calculus given the possible positives, but no matter how positive, there must be something on the other side of the equation.

Why does she want to stick her kids in a liberal kiddie kennel ...?

Well, facing a daily barrage of liberal hate will toughen them up.

She could hire a quality, full-time instructor for less money, I suspect. I somehow don’t image there’s a lot of faith-based anything in DC.

"...D.C. voted for Hillary Clinton over Trump, giving her 90 percent of the vote..."

Didn't know that, but doesn't surprise me one single tiny bit.

If there was ever reason to vote Trump, deny specific congressional representation to DC, or approve of Trump's plans to "drain the swamp" in a fetid place like Washington DC, this 90% vote for Clinton is rationale enough.

A quick Google search showed a variety of Baptist church schools in the D.C. area. (I searched for “Baptist” because they have a lot of schools in my area.) However, it’s probably safe to say that these are not as “elite” and “prestigious” as Sidwell Friends and Cathedral Prep.

I don’t know why you are even suggesting homeschooling for Trump’s personal advisor

She will have long work days doing a very important job and most of us are glad he hired her

I haven’t noticed anyone recommending Trump’s male advisors stay home with their kids

Security has to be one of the target-rich schools’ main assets. There might not be a lot of those kind of schools from which to choose.

Just because they are schooled at home doesn’t mean mom has to be the teacher.

Indeed. I say in all seriousness that the attack on Ivanka Trump in that Jetblue plane indicates that the biggest daily threat to the Conways and their children is not Islamic terrorists.

Yes probably the poster was suggesting her husband give up his profession and stay home and homeschool the children

I’m sure there are some quality catholic schools in DC
At least there are for HS
With 4 kids and a snotty bunch of obama butt kissing liberals running the name schools, I’d get a big old house in city of falls church and put them in the city schools which used to be rated very high or in St James parochial school there

Homeschool them ?

Homeschooling four children is a full time job...

Been there done that...

Unless you mean bringing in a tutor...

It is the banning of Christians (Critical Thinking/Age of Reason) for tribalism (Emotions trump Reason so Up can be Down and Boys can be Girls and Slavery is Freedom).

Christianity has been allowed to be demeaned and banned from schools as all the Great Books and the Bible for 70 years now....on purpose, so satanism can be embedded in the void and total ignorance of history and Truth..

Ideology/Theology is always embedded in young children-—they can’t have the worldview which created the Constitution of the USA.
