Conway faces resistance in DC private school search: report

President-elect Donald Trump’s future counselor said she is 'amused' by the chilled response she has received so far as she begins searching for a private school for her four children in Washington.

Kellyanne Conway is concerned her work for Trump may impact her school search upon relocating to the nation’s dark-blue capital, The New York Post reported Wednesday.

“I would not characterize myself as ‘worried’ so much as amused by the silence and sighs on the other end of the phone when friends and allies have made preliminary inquiries on my behalf,” she told the Post while visiting schools in the District.

Noting many private school handbooks and websites tout diversity and open-mindedness, Conway said: “For some, there is comfort in sameness." Conway also said she is surprised by “the flood” of people who have offered to help her family during its transition to D.C.

When asked if her family is also house hunting in D.C., Conway replied: “First things first."

A source told the Post that Conway is "asking everyone with connections to D.C. schools for help."

Trump announced Conway's new role as his counselor last week, adding she would work with senior leadership to help advance his administration’s goals.

“Kellyanne Conway has been a trusted advisor and strategist who played a crucial role in my victory,” he said in a Dec. 22 statement. "She is a tireless and tenacious advocate of my agenda and has amazing insights on how to effectively communicate our message."

D.C. voted for Hillary Clinton over Trump, giving her 90 percent of the vote.

Most private “prep” schools have several qualifications for acceptance, how large a check can the family write for “gifts” to the school and will the student make the ivy matriculation list, which enhances the schools resume.

We can only imagine the hysteria were the same to have happened with an Obama advisor.

St James in Falls Church, a catholic school, would be a better choice than an “elite” school where her children would be subject to psychological bullying.

Someone else suggested this and I like it....

Start a school at the White House for Kelly’s 4 kids, Barron Trump and Reince’s kids and anyone else who wants to join.....
Hire excellent tutors!

It’s a win win!

Like other home schoolers around the nation, they will have access to sports activities at their chosen school.

“And to add, Rolling over and playing dead, turning the other cheek, is not the answer.”

An old cowboy pastor once told us in a sermon that you should turn the other cheek and if that cheek gets slapped as well, “you’ve done run out of cheeks and the statute of limitations had just run out.”

BAKE THE DAMN CAKE Liberals!

You have financially ruined bakers, florists and photographers over gay weddings...

Your demand for justice is profoundly hypocritical when it comes to political thought versus sexual actions.

Time for ruining YOU!

"You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy."

I wish Mrs. Conway luck in her search.

St. Anselm's Abbey is the toughest school academically in D.C. bar none. It is about as apolitical as anything you will get in D.C.

Of course the establishment schools - Sidwell and St. Albans have a brand - coddling the kids of the elite.

The democrats have set this country back a generation with their ridiculous temper tantrums

they are doing exactly that which they wished to do; and will do it with gusto for the next few years...

I’m sadly leaving my mother for my 10 hour drive home. She is very liberal & I was surprised when she said she really admired Kellyanne Conway. She said she thought she was very smart & unflappable. Wonders never cease! Disgusting about the school situation. Okay, leaving dunkin donuts & hitting the highway.

agreed - start a school in the WH for all the kids of parents in the Trump administration.

Once it takes off, they could take over one of the ( so to be empty ) Federal Office buildings

This sounds weird.

Most of the private schools are at capacity. A new administration is coming to town, and there will be a number of new kids to place. It will eventually work out, but it's not a situation where one can just walk in the door waving a check and expect placement. There are plenty of Republicans in DC with kids in private or parochial schools who could put in a quiet inquiry, and there are school placement consultants who have well-established relationships. She should pick a neighborhood first and work out from there.

This is all BS and must be stopped. All schools should be fair and balanced and politics left at the door of all schools. The teacher’s union must be dismantled and a merit system installed. Misbehavior must not be tolerated and school uniforms issued to all students.

I went to an integrated school back in the 50’s and we never had this crap that we hear about today. We didn’t even have security guards. Let’s go back to the way things were back then! Foremost - children must be taught respect for themselves and others.

If the new head of the Education department can’t get this done, then she should be replaced.

Home schooling refers to WHERE the schooling is done and not necessarily by WHOM it is done.
