Conway faces resistance in DC private school search: report

President-elect Donald Trump’s future counselor said she is 'amused' by the chilled response she has received so far as she begins searching for a private school for her four children in Washington.

Kellyanne Conway is concerned her work for Trump may impact her school search upon relocating to the nation’s dark-blue capital, The New York Post reported Wednesday.

“I would not characterize myself as ‘worried’ so much as amused by the silence and sighs on the other end of the phone when friends and allies have made preliminary inquiries on my behalf,” she told the Post while visiting schools in the District.

Noting many private school handbooks and websites tout diversity and open-mindedness, Conway said: “For some, there is comfort in sameness." Conway also said she is surprised by “the flood” of people who have offered to help her family during its transition to D.C.

When asked if her family is also house hunting in D.C., Conway replied: “First things first."

A source told the Post that Conway is "asking everyone with connections to D.C. schools for help."

Trump announced Conway's new role as his counselor last week, adding she would work with senior leadership to help advance his administration’s goals.

“Kellyanne Conway has been a trusted advisor and strategist who played a crucial role in my victory,” he said in a Dec. 22 statement. "She is a tireless and tenacious advocate of my agenda and has amazing insights on how to effectively communicate our message."

D.C. voted for Hillary Clinton over Trump, giving her 90 percent of the vote.

A golden opportunity for hiring what would amount to a Nanny with a stellar history of Home Schooling to go right along with DeVos hopefully killing DoEd. Besides, it would make security much easier to implement. Make it like most other home schooled examples where the kids repeatedly are at the top of the classes where they have to take the required tests.

Better yet would be to see her kids fare better than the snotty private schools in DC. Another model for aspiring private teachers in a new market.

I thought the segregation era was over. Before long, children of republicans will not be allowed to ride the bus, eat in restaurants, etc etc.

The democrats have set this country back a generation with their ridiculous temper tantrums

I just hope that Kellyanne doesn’t need a special occasion cake in the near future.

Conway should look for a private faith based school. There’s got to be a couple of them somewhere in D.C.

Those schools need to do some serious re-thinking. They are going to have a great number of vacancies coming up soon.

'many private school handbooks and websites tout diversity and open-mindedness, Conway said: “For some, there is comfort in sameness."'

Obviously the irony is lost on those people.

That’s a novel idea - hire a governess !
Plenty of social opportunities available to homeschoolers

I disagree. Are we really going to go back to the Rosa Parks days? This is segregation. Pure and simple.

The blatant, raw hypocricy of the left is astounding, and visible to all now.
And it is their downfall, for it is their great sin.

“Blatant raw hypocrisy......”

I agree with you 100%.

And to add, Rolling over and playing dead, turning the other cheek, is not the answer.

Segregation is not just wrong when directed to blacks and other minorities.

...why not home school them?

For some of the same reasons she is not planning on buying a tin tub, washboard and a bar of Octagon soap with which to clean the family laundry.

Both activities are VERY time consuming.

(And, yes, I value home schooling and my children's education FAR above hand washed clothing!)

Can you imagine what liberal claptrap these children would be exposed to for 7 hours a day, 5 days per week at any of these institutions? Why in the world she would want to send her children there is beyond me.

Not that tough really. Just applied simple logic with the post 1/20/17 mindset and that is not long ball anymore. Long ball now goes out to post SCOTUS appointments for just the first up for the inning.
