Four people were shot dead during an attack in the Fernwood neighborhood and 15 other people, including a 9-year-old boy, were wounded in shootings from Saturday to Sunday.
The quadruple fatal shooting marked the third time in less than 24 hours that a single shooting incident left at least four people wounded.
It happened about 12:40 p.m. in the 100 block of West 105th Street at a home in the Fernwood neighborhood, said Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago police spokesman.
At least five ambulances were sent to the home after officers were alerted by an anonymous call that several people were shot there, police said.
Two men and two women were pronounced dead at the scene, and a woman in her 20s was taken in critical condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, officials said.

Chicago’s turning into a hellhole... liberal ideas have consequences.
Yes, Putin is laughing now.
We shouldn’t even “count” when criminals kill each other. Just like when 4-legged animals kill each other, or even “dog bites man.” It only goes to skew the crime statistics and infringe on the freedom of the law abiding. Frankly, they are doing the work of local law enforcement and saving its the cost of incarceration in many cases. Please continue.
Dick Butkus grew up in this neighborhood (or its environs, depending on how you draw the borders).
It’s changed a bit since then.
Chicago needs more “Reasonable” & “Common Sense” Gun Control Laws on the books.(/s)
The weather was letting up and the poor guys in the hood were suffering from cabin fever and had to let off some steam.
TRUE. Another fifty pounds of 'gun control' laws and we can pick them up and hit criminals over the head (literally) with them...
No, all statistics MUST be put in the hopper...
It’s delusional liberals who hide from truth... we want MORE truth... more honest numbers, more pictures of WHAT IS, more reality - - NOT less.
They reliably vote for Democrats. That’s all that matters, and according to plan.
Merry Christmas, Chicagoans. Just keep voting for DIMocRATs to keep the fun flowing.
Yeah, I hear ya, but the liberals use these “statistics” to infringe on our rights. Count them as crimes, if you want, but not typical “gun-related crimes.” Maybe put criminal on criminal in a separate hopper, with animal on animal.
Don’t let the libs control the narrative.
I’m all for machine gun toting squads of new Untouchables.
Blow enough of the baddies away and people might get a clue.
LOL I have a picture in my mind, yes.
Better yet would it not be wonderful if the citizens became their own 1st responders and took back their neighborhoods and communities, not only from the unelected thugs but the elected ones as well; quit relaying on far-away bureaucrats: that for them, you are ‘out of sight-out of mind’. In essence nothing more then a bathroom read.
It would have been much worse if Chicago had been cleaned up by Barry the Community Organizer.
Speaking of, Barry did such a good job that “as late as 1989, at least 28 Chicago suburbs still lacked 9-1-1 service” - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/9-1-1
All crime numbers should be on the table and treated equally. The only other choice is a ‘committee’ to determine who is worthy of caring about and who it not worthy. That's a close to the definitive definition of ‘totalitarian hellhole’ that I've heard in a while. Your position is wrong. Every death matters... every murder is a murder.

Crime is NOT based on the status of the victim...
Seneca of ancient Rome called it sword control. Recognizing that a human must be smarter then the tool he is using.
Laws do not alter human behavior. However, fear does in most cases. Sad but true.
Would it not be better if we actually trained our children to practice thinking and using common sense from a young age, the outcome would be better. Think about it and your current educational system as well.
Laws do not make communities, communities makes laws. Laws do not make people ‘good’, people make themselves ‘good’ or ‘bad’.
Now for a disheartening caveat,’bad’ laws exist. ‘Bad’ laws make ‘good’ people appear ‘bad’.
“It is the duty of honest humans to thwart unjust laws.”
Truthfully and in reality, laws are not solutions. They have become a cop-out, a means for the citizen to say something has been done when actuality it has not, in a way an attempt to push away some personal responsibility at maintaining a safe and/or prosperous community.
To make this situation worse; those that make and are intended to enforce the laws they make: also flagrantly ignore those laws. Thereby diminishing the value of the concept of law in the minds and hearts of the citizens.
All around the world today the illusions that government and laws are able to make you safe are being shattered. Only a willingness to do what is correct will keep you safe.
How much sense does it make to say; “I rely on someone else for my personal safety.”
Lots of nuthin’ being did in Chicago. Aspiring rapper has to be the most dangerous career choice.
Is Martin Mull ok?
“Is Martin Mull ok?”
Still breathing. Some people just lead a charmed life.
