Four people were shot dead during an attack in the Fernwood neighborhood and 15 other people, including a 9-year-old boy, were wounded in shootings from Saturday to Sunday.
The quadruple fatal shooting marked the third time in less than 24 hours that a single shooting incident left at least four people wounded.
It happened about 12:40 p.m. in the 100 block of West 105th Street at a home in the Fernwood neighborhood, said Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago police spokesman.
At least five ambulances were sent to the home after officers were alerted by an anonymous call that several people were shot there, police said.
Two men and two women were pronounced dead at the scene, and a woman in her 20s was taken in critical condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, officials said.

RIP.
Methinks its actually safer in Afghanistan.
Is Rahm on vacay?
“Fake News,” this could not have happened. Chicago has gun control.
Don’t worry, they’ll all be alive and voting in 2018 and 2020.
I've read army medics go to Chicago area hospitals to train.
Maybe his excellency should have vacationed in Chicago where I am sure his influence would have stopped these events from happening.
Criminals possessing firearms for the purpose of committing crimes need to be locked away for decades. Those of these who murder, need to be executed forthwith. Folks in these decrepit slums who have to live with this filth needs to legally be able to get weapons.
The whole thing would level out for the good in a couple of years.
What does it take for the media to stop calling a war zone a ‘neighborhood?’
I guess the weather was fine for murdering Chicagoians.
Chicago and it’s environs have been in the control of Democrats for decades. And it has not gone well. I remember when I was in school at that esteemed Uni in Hyde Park. There had been torrential rains all day, and the ‘brothers in the hood’ were charging motorists to push their cars through the collected water in the underpasses. Sometimes the water was only a few inches deep, but the motorist had better fork over some cash anyway. Saw the reports on the news.....so glad I didn’t have to drive anywhere that day! This was in tne mid-70’s. It has gotten exponentially worse since then.
Chicago, another of owebama’s failures.
Roseland “official” neighborhood name:
Area: 4.857 mi²
Asian population: 0.1%
Hispanic population: 1%
Black population: 97.4%
White population: 0.4%
Population: 44,619 (2010)
About 10 miles south of Obama’s old home place.
Shhhhh. You're harshing the narrative.
I take it this is not the Fernwood of Mary Hartman...
The Russians did it.

I believe it may be time to bring back the ‘Untouchables’ or maybe you prefer ‘Paper Lace - The Night Chicago Died’.
Real crime is based in/on assault and/or theft; secondary crime comes from bad laws.
‘The Law’ F. Bastiat “the law is force.”
And as is with all forces there is always an equal and opposite reaction; and when this caveat is ignored, obviously the results may appear unexpected.
‘Make no law that binds you in the face of common sense’ in other words minimum law making is better for a society.
It is obvious, over regulation becomes unenforceable and this alone perpetuates a flagrant misrepresentation of what is ‘just’ in a society. Over regulation is also a form of sophistry; a tool for the confusion, to mislead or deceive the naive; used by those that wish to maintain power.
Fact of the matter is; you will never be to able to legislate morality or behavior. If done it is inevitably perceived as some form of dis-enfranchisement (slavery)
Which goes along with; heat is a fact and cold is a feeling (fiction). One is real the other is not.
I can only qualify and quantify measurable observations; your feelings may or may not matter.
Chicago is the result of many ignored actions and unintended reactions. Sort of like a drug user’s life.
A thirst for power is probably the most devastating addiction.
Treatable; but now the treatment will be akin to a very painful medical treatment and will require an extreme amount of self discipline on the part of the patient during the physical/drug (power addict) rehab period.
Hey Ol’ dead fish Rahm, one thing you cannot deny, is that a hell of a lot of people got killed on your watch. How is that crisis thing going for you?
My first thought too
And New York and a few other supercities. I’ve had this confirmed by at least four armed service members when I first heart about it in college and thought it was a joke or a slam on civvie law and order. One of the four knew someone who actually went to either Chicago or Detroit for such training.
He also suggested that they train not only army medics but also army snipers in the same city, an idea which I was heartily for.
