“Extinction is the rule, survival is the exception” - Carl Sagan

Which, in this case, means to never rest, to be vigilant, steadfast, above reproach, truthful, fit, and so much more. Otherwise the jackals and jackass’s will regain lost territory and cause further damage. Perhaps even exponentially.

The Rats have no place to go, except Communism. Trump will steal the middle.

The 2008 version of the GOP was finished. Is finished.

First came the tea party. Then came Trump populism. No way any GOPe candidate would have beaten the left this past election. Someone like Kasich or Bush or Rubio? Even Cruz. It would have been a total slaughter.

Frank Luntz is right - for the wrong reason.

The demographic oddity of the 60's - big baby boomer bulge - the depositionally large number of influential young people - is over.

' adults' will be in charge from here on out. Trump is a sign of things to come.

Eternal teenagers of the left - snowflakes and their ilk - are yesterday's fantasy. They won't sway power in the future. Political romanticizing of 'the young' - the foolishness of the 'age of Aquarius' is over... deader than a doornail. The press needs to staff their newsrooms with serious adults too... it's why the New York Times is downsizing... hippie 'wisdom' is finished.

Look, there is no long term. We were lucky to have a candidate as bad as Clinton. But watch out. They may be trying to set up another candidate like Michelle Obama. She can deliver a speech. And that is all they want from their candidate. The party and the press does the rest.

Obama and Bush did not really know anything. The two of them brought in a team. Or more appropriately said, the team picked the candidate and ran the campaign. The team ran the government. And Obama and Bush were the figureheads.

However, Trump is creating a team. He is going in there to throw people out. He is going at it as though the press and money did not matter. I am not sure how this will work, but Trump has devalued lobbyists. There money does not matter as much as it used to. That being said, his stance to deregulate and to lower taxes is a dream to many lobbyists.

Its possible that Trump is reshaping a new republican team. Or he is just creating a third team. Because of Reince, I think this is the new republican world order. It’s more pragmatic. It doesn’t sell the government. The government knows what its goals are, the American people. As long as we don’t lose white women and blue collar, I think we can hold it together. The press, the teachers, the globalists, and ethnic group leaders will be working to destroy the new Trump world order.

Amen.

We weren't able to prevent Dubya from letting Ted Kennedy, of all people, to write that preposterous No Child Left Behind crapola but we were able to get Sam Alito appointed to The Supreme Court instead of that ridiculous first pick of his.

So, we'll win some and we'll lose some but we have to do our part.

That was Bush. This is Trump. Two different animals.

That remains to be seen.

No doubt, but the fact is that political Parties have their ups and downs.

The Democrats will gain seats in the House in the off year election.

The Dems are setting the bar so low with their hysterics, that it will tick off enough people to give them the middle finger on the other hand in 2018.

Lots of elders in the GOPe. We need to replace them with younger conservatives. I’m pretty sure Trump’s people understand that. They aren’t going to rely on the Party until they own the Party. Maybe not even then.

He has four years to convert the Millennials. I was a baby prog when Reagan took office. Four years of economic growth which I saw in my own situation daily, changed me and the venom from my former *friends* cinched it. The openness of the conservatives helped a lot.

There really is nothing to compare Trump to.

There may be similarities perceived , but President Trump is an entirely different man, an entirely different President.

He has never been misunderstood because he has spoken plainly with conclusive assurance that there is no mistaking his intentions.

He came in as a businessman, is appointing like a CEO and understands the business of America.

Referring to The USA as a corporation or a business is not something new, and every President I have ever known practiced CEOmanship ..... some to the good, some to the bad, but all nations have been in business since the Tower of Babel.

Republicans better reject globalism real fast or this election will be a one off fluke. The middle will just continue to stay home.

I'm fairly certain we were being told the same thing after we elected George W. Bush. 2 years later, we lost The House and Senate.

You are historically inaccurate.

(R)'s gained in the 2002 off year elections and overcame Jumpin' Jim Jefford's defection to (I) in 2001, which forced the Senate leadership power share agreement with (D)'s.

(R)'s ran the House and Senate, spent $ like (D)'s under "compassionate conservative" Bush, and lost both House and Senate in the 2006 elections.

If (R)'s don't make that same mistake again (and I am reasonably sure we can avoid it with this new crop of conservatives, and with leadership from Trump's conservative Budget Office picks like Mulvaney), we will own the power US Gov't for a long time.

O’Reilly’s got the ‘young demographic’... the 16 to 25 year olds...(or there abouts). That’s a huge culture shift.

It’s the canary in the political coal mine.

A demographic change has happened - boomers finally getting old. Power’s shifting away from ‘the young’ and their ‘ideals’ - - to ‘the adults’. It will stay that way forever (barring a major war - in which case all bets are off anyhow)... it means ‘grown ups’ of the Republican party will stay in power until democrats figure out their childlike ways are politically offensive... Which is NOT going to happen. Frank Luntz senses the change but he’s not sure why it’s happening.
