Around 1966-7 the Democrats had over 60 Senate seats and a heavy majority in the House. Goldwater had been clobbered in the prior election and Republicans were referred to as a permanent minority party.

That lasted until 1968.

Americans have a history of swinging the pendulum. The further it swings in one direction the harder they swing it back.

Politics is a reflection of culture, and we need to do a lot to push conservatism into popular culture. It is currently being banned/censored as hate speech, impolite, stupid, unacceptable out of the public sphere and these opinions can cost you your job.

Reagan Democrats any day since the later out numbers the former by 10:1.

Interested to see the math. How many Reagan Democrats are there?

As Capt. Hook said, I stand corrected.

I knew it was a midterm where Rs lost the House and Senate. I just got the wrong midterm.

Still, my point remains, we can't just sit back and expect President Trump to do all the heavy lifting.

Liberals have done nothing but nail everyone’s feet to the ground for decades and Trump is what's wrong with America?!?! The man just has to remove one pair of nails and his actions would be unpresidented.

Bush (either of them) had no interest in change, they wanted DC status quo.

True. But we didn't know that until after the fact. Especially with W.

He sat in Rush Limbaugh's mother's living room and assured Rush he would be the most Conservative President ever.

Didn't quite turn out that way.

Be ever vigilant. That's all I'm saying.

I don't need time to analyze his words and wait to see if he holds true to them.

I do.

Top pollster Frank Luntz – who was not a Trump supporter – told Sean Hannity tonight that Trump could create a permanent Republican majority. Frank Luntz: I did not think Trump had a good chance

Ha haaaa! So, the go-to guy at Fox got it wrong about Trump's chances but now he says Trump could create a permanent Republican majority and people lap it up.

Lord o' mercy. I assume Sean just sat there with that weird half-grin of his and nodded approvingly.

“First came the tea party. Then came Trump populism. No way any GOPe candidate would have beaten the left this past election. Someone like Kasich or Bush or Rubio? Even Cruz. It would have been a total slaughter.”

Absolutely true, Cruz was the only fighter but he went too right and was well on his way to building a short tent. Trump fought like he was the third lion on the ramp up the Ark.

NKU Norse are on the rise Big Cat.

Trump could create a Democratic majority, not Republican. The Republicans seeded the spot when they did not fight the Bolshekrats and Obummer.

They have been staying home since '92. If the Republicans can shake off the dogmatic gloBULList Free Traitors™ and Trump successfully does what I think he will do then in 2020 he will get his popular landslide that he deserves. However, if the Republicans can't ditch the gloBULList RINO K Street whores then Trump will be a one off. A fluke like Reagan was. Regan managed to get re-elected but he was immedalty thwarted by Bush 41 and his NWO gloBULList agenda.

The Republican Party needs to be the Party of Coolidge and Reagan and not Bush2-Limbaugh.

Don't rest on your laurels, FRiends. It's pedal to the metal at all times. That's how the Libturds operate.

Bump. Credit where credit is due. The FReepin' Libs move the ball down the field. Speaking of which, the day the Libs get the House, Senate and White House (may that be 100 years from now), they WILL pass a massive amnesty bill. If Obama and company had done that back in 2009-2010, it would be President elect Hillary and a permanent Dem president until the last swirl in the toilet of oblivion.

In 2018 the Democrats have to defend 23 seats and two independents.

We only have to defend 8.

I see 10 or more vulnerable seats for the demo and we have to focus on taking them.

If all we get is 10 seats we will have increased our numbers in the house from 241 to at least 251, which will swamp the Dems, leaving them with only 184 members.

I think it’s possible we gain even more but, that remains to seen and then it’s gearing up for 2020.

In 2020, Trump will have accomplished so much of his agenda and the country swimming in prosperity will be compelled to vote overwhelmingly for Trump and bring along more down ticket victories as well.

I am hoping that he and congress can work together to make it hard for the next president to abuse there power in the way Obama did...I would love to see a justice department that was independent from the president maybe overseen by a panel of the president, the top supreme court justice, speaker of the house and speaker of the senate with a fifth person being voted in by the senate and the house to be in charge of the panel. this president has gotten away with so much stuff because he squashed it.
