Russia Hacked Republican Committee but Kept Data, U.S. Concludes

DAVID E. SANGER and SCOTT SHANE DEC. 9, 2016

WASHINGTON — American intelligence agencies have concluded with “high confidence” that Russia acted covertly in the latter stages of the presidential campaign to harm Hillary Clinton’s chances and promote Donald J. Trump, according to senior administration officials.

They based that conclusion, in part, on another finding — which they say was also reached with high confidence — that the Russians hacked the Republican National Committee’s computer systems in addition to their attacks on Democratic organizations, but did not release whatever information they gleaned from the Republican networks.

In the months before the election, it was largely documents from Democratic Party systems that were leaked to the public. Intelligence agencies have concluded that the Russians gave the Democrats’ documents to WikiLeaks.

I get the story. They want to claim that Russians have been unfair because they also hacked RNC computers but only released emails from DNC hack. The common denominator among all articles claiming Russian involvement is that none disputes the veracity of hacked emails. So they are all true and Hillary is indeed crooked, but they don’t care. They only care about who made them public.

They don’t care what incalculable damage Hillary did to national security by letting her email server wide open to enemies of U.S. for easy hacking. If they think Russians did so much with leaked emails of DNC shenanigans, why don’t they stop and think about how much advantage they have with information learned from emails from her server, especially the deleted ones. If she won, it would have been brushed aside into the category of “nothing to see, it is an old news”

It doesn’t surprise me that they make all efforts to destroy any legitimacy of Trump presidency by tying him to Russia, effectively making him a Russian puppet. It is not only Trump’s legitimacy they want to undermine, but also his supporters’. This whole narrative of ignorant know-nothing idiots duped by Russians to elect its puppet will be repeated endlessly. To them, his win cannot be explained by anything else.

This is more than the frustration that it is politically unacceptable. There is also a feeling that they are losing power and influence. Even after they poured in so much to ensure her victory, they came up short. It really hurts to feel that maybe your magic is no longer working.

So I guess the russians were not acting in concert with anyone, if this is even correct.

So much for liberal wet dream masturbatory fantasies of a conspiracy with trump.

And no offense but libtards would have been flying commie flags if russians decided to back clinton over trump. Again, if this report is even true at all.

Oh but they’ll keep putting the spin out there that maybe sorta implies that just possibly Russia helped Trump win. Reason number 500 Hillary was ROBBED of the crown. Ongoing sore loser syndrome.

Duh. Nice try, stupid leftists.

The Russians would rather have Trump as President? Right, because Clinton would have been too tough on them.

Who posts this crap without a barf alert?

It seems to me that the wiki leaks material came from insider within the DNC and CIA. Julian Assange stated that the information did not come from Russia. IIRC, there was some information that the NSA was actually the one that did the hacking.

Distinction should also be made between the DNC campaign material, and other documents that had been deleted/scrubbed from her “private” email server.

As has been pointed out, there has been no specific refutation or denial of any of the info. just an attempt to smear the source.

Hillary is the one that has the ties to Russia, as shown by the donations to her foundation and the subsequent sale of the uranium processing to Russia.

“High confidence generally indicates judgments based on high-quality information, and/or the nature of the issue makes it possible to render a solid judgment. However, high confidence judgments still carry a risk of being wrong.”

RATs had “high confidence” that Hillary would be elected president.

High confidence means no certain knowledge.

It says “American intelligent agencies, but they refers to the Democratic National convention committee. So, nothing it the article indicates an actual government intelligence agency like the CIA, NSA or FBI actually found the Russians had hacked

Is this the 1% of the time the Slimes is telling the truth? With the story they are trying to spin, the story is clerly more important than the truth. I seriously doubt this is true.

Forget Hillary's use of a private server to conduct official business. Forget Hillary selling access and favors in return for contributions to the Clinton Foundation. Forget Obamacare and other Obama policies that hurt citizens and the economy.

Can someone please explain exactly how the Russians helped Trump?

They recruited Trump in 2013, they fed WikiLeaks the emails, they hacked some of the machines, fed websites fake news, had their agent Comey make the announcements before the election...

Honest, I just read it at DU. And yes, I’m taking a shower.

In a related story, Putin said that the GOP is very dull and boring. Their emails really suck.
