If that’s true, I’m sorry to hear it. That was the spot I’d offer him if it was my cabinet to fill. I think he would have done very well there. But if there are concerns about pressure, maybe a more honorary position like US Ambassador to Italy?

Sounds like a very friendly, reluctant withdrawal by Giuliani with regrets. A far cry from the rejection being depicted by media wanting to create the illusion of acrimony and division.

Rudy, you said you would take on Hillary? Well, the chance increased we need you a lot after the CLinton campaign unleashed Jill Stein to disrupt the election!

I doubt Rudy withdrew. I’d guess he was told he didn’t have a spot and was allowed to go out on his own.

He’ll be rewarded monetarily with business being sent in his direction.

“It’s starting to look like Newt and Rudy were pushed out.”

Newt was NOT “pushed out”. For weeks now, Newt has REPEATEDLY and PUBLICLY stated he has no interest whatsoever ever being a government employee ever again.

Newt has REPEATEDLY and PUBLICLY stated he would like to have a role in the Trump administration where he could rethink the entire role of government, what it should do and how it should do it effectively and efficiently. Newt wants to be a thinker and a visionary and to apply a lifetime of knowledge and wisdom to develop a revolutionary view of government. Newt wants to be an architect, not a construction supervisor, which is what a cabinet head amounts to

If you had actually been paying attention and listening to the man, who appears on TV almost every night explaining these things, you wouldn’t be making such ignorant statements.

“Rudy was too PUSHY!!!!”

Aren’t you just repeating rumors from “unnamed” sources? You ever heard anyone say that besides talking heads on the fake stream media?

I have no idea since I haven’t found Conservative Treehouse to engage in fake news speculation, but Sundance put out the idea that Rudy has an alcohol problem and if it’s true, given their friendship as well as his strong personal views on that subject, it would explain Trump’s handling of this. And Rudy has been out of pocket for several weeks.

I just think Trump wants a person with superior negotiating skills and a solid track record in doing that, and neither Rudy nor many others including Bolton have that background. Romney does, as does the CEO fo Exxon.

Rudy and Newt are Trump’s Reggie Love, minus the gay sex.

It doesn’t make sense. He’s a lawyer. He would be perfect at DHS. SoS does not require a lawyer.

The CEO of Exxon isn’t going to be confirmed by the Senate for the State job. 47 Dem no votes and a few no votes from the McCain/Graham/Collins wing of the GOP would sink him.

Rudy wanted Sec of State - said he was the best for the job - was offered Homeland Security - where he would have been great - didn’t want it - wanted what he wanted or nothing -

So be it -

Trump’s nominee for Sec of Labor is a worthless globalist who has said time and again that illegals make better workers than Americans. His thinking is totally opposite of Trump’s. Lou Dobbs, who is a huge fan of Trump, opened his show tonight raising hell about the obvious Paul Ryan pick for Sec of Labor. Ann Coulter and countless others have slammed the pick. Trump has made some good picks and some God-awful ones. Nikki Haley is an open borders globalist and McMorris Rodgers despised from day one and still does, Shes the female version of Paul Ryan. Now she’ll be the new Sec of the Interior. Looks to me like Trump is adding to the swamp instead of draining it. Too many globalists surrounding him.

Imagine pursuing this race and losing to Romney, after standing by Trump all the way. That would be too much of a let down for anyone.
