Tinfoil hat time, what if the real plan is make rudy the special prosecuter ?
I thought about this when Rush was talking about this on Thursday. Rudy and Newt are old men who have been in the spotlight over 20 years. Rather than putting them in cabinet posts, I think they serve Trump better as overall advisers - Rudy for his national security experience and Newt for his legislative experience. Both of these will be needed for Trump to have the success in Congress he hopes to achieve.
For all the bluster, Trump is still a novice when it comes to the federal government so having two men he call on at all times to offer candid advice is a critical role, just like the bench coach in baseball that advises the young manager on how to handle a ballclub through a long season.
The cloak of *Victim* does not fit Rudy. Wonder why he is really falling on his own sword.
Or a January *surprise*?
It was obvious to Rudy that Trump was not going to choose him as SOS, so he withdrew. It really is that simple.
Agreed. He stood by Trump in his darkest hours, especially after that tape came out when no one would. He flew with him and spoke at his rallies, some late at night. They said he would go through the WikiLeaks on the plane, finding the right emails for Trump to talk about at his rallies. If he wanted Secretary of State, he should have gotten it.
Why is Rudy on TV 24/7 babbling on about Trump’s sensitive decisions. It appears to be ‘all about Rudy’. Not good PR.
Sit down and Shut up Rudy. We already know how great thou art.
He deserved to be picked. Why would anyone like Romney (who is still in contention) be considered over someone like Rudy who had Trump’s back and when few did? He was one of the only, if not the only, people to come out and defend him on the shows on Sunday morning the weekend that tape came out. He took a lot of heat for that. Imagine being him and working your butt off only to potentially lose to a guy like Romney. Where were any of those other people on the list when no one believed in Trump but his supporters?
I heard him on Fox last night, and I didn’t think he said anything wrong.
I look at Trump’s plan and it has Newt’s influence all over it. I remember what he said in the 90’s, that we need to think 20, even 50 years ahead instead of the next election like most politicians.
Oh, that is right there will be not foreign lobbyist working for the Trump administration. Got that on my list of things he said.
Yeah. Rinse Prius has f(&k with me written all over him
Good. i don’t want Rudy as SoS. In fact, I don’t want him in any Cabinet position. In my opinion he is much more valuable “outside”, than he is boxed into a specific position, which he may or may not be the right man for. What I do want is his influence, wisdom, and guidance for the trump administration. I just don’t think a Cabinet position was the best use of the value he can bring to the Trump administration and ultimately to the American people. Just my opinion, looking on. I could be wrong.
