Virginia Democrat: I Think We Should Have A Gun Registry

Sen. Barbara Favola says she doesn’t want to take away your guns. She just wants to know what you’re packing.

The Arlington Democrat is proposing to have the state study whether the registration of firearms in Virginia is feasible, because she believes arming police with a database of gun records would provide them with an additional tool to fight crime. But she knows even a study will draw opposition in Richmond

[…]

“My guess is that there will not be a single Republican who will vote for this bill,” says Sen Richard Black (R-Loudoun). “The whole purpose of [the study] is to pave the way for the confiscation of firearms from law abiding citizens,” he adds.

Hmmmm. NOW who's the nazis? As for sen black and his thinking not a single rep will vote for the bill. Maybe an actual conservative won't vote for it but there's rinos galore out there.

Like a wedding registry? I’d like a Kimber.

How about a $1,000.00 credit at Cableas or Bass Pro for your wedding registry? That’d work.

I will never register, or supports efforts thereof, my guns under any circumstance. They will get ‘dispersed’ before I allow that to happen.

because she believes arming police with a database of gun records would provide them with an additional tool to fight crime.

Yep, I'm sure all the gangbangers in Richmond and the DC suburbs are going to be rushing down to the police station to register their "piece" with the authorities.

voluntary registration should be allowed...

along with fingerprints, dna samples, and bank statements.

because, nothing ever bad happens when the government is involved.

This fool was supposed to present the registry idea with a Hillary win not Trump.

I have a feeling that this approach won’t work, but how far away is it before the gov’t requires a “bullet footprint” for every gun sold tied to its serial number and the owner of that gun.

act quick! the lake is filling up with busted boats and firearms.. soon they will be able to just reach in and grab them.

(but I completely get the idea, my collection is made up of mostly private untracked purchases)

Mine too. But instead of scuttling I’d prefer as a last ditch to ‘disperse’ to like minded compatriots.

Never mind that gun registrations DO NOT help solve crimes and would cost millions of dollars.

The ONLY reason for a gun registration is so the government has a list of owners when they decide to confiscate them.

“She just wants to know what you’re packing.”

Most of us don’t really care what she wants. She can be turned out at the next election.
