The Arlington Democrat is proposing to have the state study whether the registration of firearms in Virginia is feasible, because she believes arming police with a database of gun records would provide them with an additional tool to fight crime. I will never register, or supports efforts thereof, my guns under any circumstance. They will get ‘dispersed’ before I allow that to happen.

I have a feeling that this approach won’t work, but how far away is it before the gov’t requires a “bullet footprint” for every gun sold tied to its serial number and the owner of that gun.

Mine too. But instead of scuttling I’d prefer as a last ditch to ‘disperse’ to like minded compatriots.
Never mind that gun registrations DO NOT help solve crimes and would cost millions of dollars.
The ONLY reason for a gun registration is so the government has a list of owners when they decide to confiscate them.
