The Michigan recount finished its first day, and there were already reports that half of Detroit’s votes might not be recounted, as well as other problems with ballots.
The reason so many Detroit ballots could get left out of the recount: The number of ballots listed in poll books is not the same as the totals given on machine printouts.
Clinton rang up huge margins in Wayne County, home to populous Detroit, and she would likely need her margin there to grow in order to shrink Trump’s 10,704 vote margin in Michigan. Clinton received 66 percent of the Wayne County vote on November 8.
The news of the Detroit problems broke in the Detroit News on December 5 as two Michigan counties started recounting ballots from the 2016 presidential election. The newspaper reported that “one-third of precincts in Wayne County could be disqualified” from the recount because of ballot problems. According to the newspaper, officials “couldn’t reconcile vote totals for 610 of 1,680 precincts” during last month’s countywide canvass of Election Day returns, adding that most are in Clinton stronghold Detroit, “where the number of ballots in precinct poll books did not match those of voting machine printout reports in 59 percent of precincts, 392 of 662.”
The Detroit Free Press quoted an expert who questioned the Michigan recount law, which varies from other states in that, if there is a discrepancy between the number of ballots and those listed in poll books, a recount can not be done in that precinct, and original results stand if the “difference is not explained to the satisfaction of the board of canvassers.” This happened on day 1 of the Michigan recount, when a Rochester Hills precinct could not be recounted because of a missing ballot, said the newspaper.

Retroactive laws tend to be problematic. I will bet that her attorneys will argue that the law violates the ex post facto prohibition in the constitution, so she should not have to pay. We’ll see.
Yes, which is why the idiots posting the "pearl-clutching" comments need to give it a rest. The real fraud happens when there is a recount - that is where elections are stolen. The Dems may not get away with it this time around, but they are always testing. Our side needs to take this problem a lot more seriously than it has up to this point.
I firmly believe the democraps did all the voter fraud they could get away with and she STILL lost.
Trump seemed to be at 85% support -vs- her 15%
They expected her to win by 10% - I would not put it past them to have generated at least that amount.
But Trumps turnout was a landslide. I have never seen lines before. Remove the fraud and I bet he won at least 48 states
A voter turnout of 105% of registered voters is not normally a cause for concern, as many states allow for registering and voting at same time.

I think it means that the original vote stands, and there will be no further examination in that precinct.
Feds had no problem passing the Lautenberg Amendment that denies the ability of people convicted of misdemeanor domestic violence to own firearms, even if conviction was 30, 40 or 50 years prior to bill passage.

Sounds like that law was designed to prevent fraudulant votes being added during the recount.
This is why Hillary is a big proponent of the recount-she knows what might scurry out from an overturned rock.
She wont lose them. They just can’t be recounted therefore the first count total stands.

It seems that as an election judge retrieved the ballot and ran it through the scanner again, the machines actually tallied those ballot twice. I’m not sure this would constitute an intentional ballot stuffing, although that would be the end result.”
Normally (at least here in east central Illinois) one the ballot is scanned, it is dumped into a bin which is locked until the polls are closed. It cannot be retrieved because of the locked bin and there would be no way to tell which one it was.
My guess is that the election officials were all of one party and fed more ballots in.
Michigan has voter ID.

Seems like a law designed to prevent a recount from discovering vote fraud in the districts where it is most likely to have occurred. Bet the Democrats passed that law.
Most likely that, in those districts, someone just added votes to the machine through some process other than filling out ballots and feeding them to the reader.

It seems to mean that Detroit stuffed a lot of ballot boxes, underestimated what it would take to make Hillary win, and may prove Trump’s claims of rampant voter fraud if scrutinized too closely....
That’s my take too. It’s actually a fortunate rule for those against fraud. I think there should be investigations to find out why they don’t match, of course.
