Well, experts say the federal court can usurp the state’s authority. All righty then!

How is it that a federal court has any jurisdiction whatsoever in this matter. The management of the election process is totally within the state. A federal judge can say whatever he wants, but I believe that he has no jurisdiction. True or not?

And most of Detroit’s ballots can’t be recounted because of ‘irregularities’: http://www.detroitnews.com/story/news/politics/2016/12/05/recount-unrecountable/95007392/

The Dems’ chances have gone from insignificant to non-existant.

It will be stopped this evening or tomorrow. Takes some time to prepare the documentation and communicate the stay.

Michigan should be testing that proposition.

Right he does not in this matter and certainly does not have final say as courts go. He’s not the Supreme Court of the land.

It’s a Federal Election. That’s how the USSC got involved in the Florida recount...

The judges comment that “the right to vote, and to have that vote conducted fairly and counted accurately” is a true statement for every single election anywhere and any time. Without *evidence* of wrongdoing, it is meaningless because no more applies to this election than any other. It is NOT a reason for a recount, without substantial evidence of which there is none.

Such a quaint concept, states. I vaguely remember when we had them.

"Most of those are in heavily Democratic Detroit, where the number of ballots in precinct poll books did not match those of voting machine printout reports in 59 percent of precincts, 392 of 662."

Let me guess...more votes for hillary in the machines than voters in the poll books.

Does this mean that there was tampering with votes? If so, what is the rationale for not recounting?

“original election results stand.”

Or does this mean that the original vote in those precincts “stand”?

If your premise that no state recount can be done because of Detroit’s errors stands, fantastic.

BUT

If not, the recount continues elsewhere, and the precincts where most of the fraudulent voting occurred remains counted (Detroit).

Those precincts said their scanners were broken and they in some cases scanned the ballots multiple times. So, if actually hand recounted Hillary would actually received a lot fewer votes in those precincts, and Trump’s total would grow.

Unfortunately, if those votes “stand” as originally counted, fraudulent counts for Hillary remain, and shenanigans can happen elsewhere.

does anyone have a clarification?

They scanned ballots more than once, so there were more votes than voters. It’s called fraud.

Im pretty sure the only thing the Federal Court did was order the recount to start earlier than per law - Monday rather than Wednesday and is to continue while the appeal is heard by the Michigan appeals court.

No, it appears he also directed the recount to continue unless told otherwise by only him.
Basically said that a state court shall not stop them.

Schuette tweeted that he had filed in a federal court as well on about 6pm last night.
