White House press secretary Josh Earnest encouraged President-elect Trump on Monday to take advantage of the "expertise and advice" of career diplomats at the State Department as the controversy surrounding the incoming president's recent call to Taiwan continues to boil over.
"Whenever you are talking about the president-elect interacting with foreign leaders, it's incredibly important. It has profound consequences for our country and for our national interests around the world," Earnest said in response to a reporter's question about whether Trump is "winging" his discussions with foreign leaders.
"Last week, we had some conversations about a conversation the president-elect had with the prime minister of Pakistan, and I noted in answering questions about that telephone call that President Obama, over the course of his eight years in the White House, has benefited significantly from the expertise, advice and experience of career diplomats at the State Department," he said. Earnest said that expertise is currently available to Trump and "will continue to be available to him when he enters the Oval Office."

No wonder there is a problem with the failed Obama foreign policy.
State must not talk to foreign leaders without talking to the White House first.
“...”expertise and advice” of career diplomats at the State Department ....”
Trump would be better served by going to a Topeka, Ks telephone book and picking names out randomly and asking for their advice .... I’m sure that he would get better advice that those “career diplomats” that brought us the Arab Spring, Ukraine, Libya, Syria, Egypt, refugees, Mexico, etc.
We can’t think of ANYONE we’d consult with LESS than obama and his islamonazi- infested Snake Dept.
I think that Trump and his team think that the State Department is either clueless, not aligned with their goals, or is actively going to work against them until it is beaten down, cleaned out, reorganized, and realigned with Trump's vision.
Obama and his team know this and are just taking cheap political shots.
Hay Josh! If we want any sh*t off of you we’ll scrape it off!
Pack your shit, get the F OUT.
Buzz off, Josh. You’re yesterday’s news and I’ve wrapped my old fish in you.
“”President Obama, over the course of his eight years in the White House, has benefited significantly from the expertise, advice and experience of career diplomats at the State Department””
Yeah, we know....the career diplomats working for Hillary Clinton were top notch, weren’t they? Why would anyone want to confer with them about any topic except the “art of lying?” - I’m sure they’re all still employed there in spite of receiving some cuts in pay and demotions..Oh! Those weren’t “diplomats?” Don’t tell them that.
An editorial on another site quoted Senator Jesse Helms as stating that the State Department needed to establish an America desk there to remind them of what country’s interests they represent.
Actually, it was the DREADED Freeper Lingo thread....
:)
:)
I remember when Obama was invited to a meeting of liberals in Gordon Getty’s mansion in Pacific Heights way back at the beginning...but in line with Obama’s stature, he had to enter the mansion through the servents’ entrance............
These people are so darn funny. Josh, go stand in front of a mirror, look yourself in the eye and repeat, “Nobody gives a flying fig what you think. You’re done. Go quietly into the night without bringing further embarrassment upon yourself.”
The entire reason we send diplomats to conduct official government business is so that the two leaders can clarify any misunderstandings, or they can have their Ambassador/Chief Diplomat advise both world leaders.
That's news to Barry...he thinks there are 57.
I hope that Trump’s fans at the inauguration savagely boo, denounce, and insult homobama when homobama appears on stage. I want these fans to permanently damage whatever happiness zerobama has left in that dark soul of his.
So, I’d like to see the records where Obama consulted with Bush before he was President.
Until then Josh...
