John Huntsman, a former American ambassador to China and Utah Republican governor, on Saturday suggested Trump’s call to Taiwan and other such diplomatic outreaches “should be expected,” with Trump being perhaps the most unconventional presidential candidate of a generation.

“We ought to be giving (Taiwan) a little more space,” Huntsman said on Fox News, noting mutual economic, national security and human rights issues.

Arkansas GOP Sen. Tom Cotton said Friday: “I commend President-elect Trump for his conversation with President Tsai Ing-wen, which reaffirms our commitment to the only democracy on Chinese soil. I have met with President Tsai twice and I'm confident she expressed to the president-elect the same desire for closer relations with the United States."

Huntsman is awesome and I think he should be made Secretary of State.

What is Cotton’s experience to be placed at that level?

His father; Jon Huntsman Sr., would be thrilled if Jr., his oldest son, were to became SOS.

Off Topic; Sr. Huntsman is a four time cancer survivor, and has donated over $1.2 Billion toward cancer research. I think I recall reading that the Huntsmans happen to be distant relatives of guess who? Mitt Romney.
It’s a small world after all. It’s a small, small world!

Cotton sent that famous letter to Iran denouncing the nuclear deal.

He is a fresh face not tainted by Bush or Obama. Would be a great pick.

Backstabbing Socialist RINO weasels like him and his Cuz Willard are the reason why people like Zero (and Hillary) end up in high office. (C)Huntsman can go grovel to Zero for another job.

I’m only concerned about an additional ability to clean house at foggy bottom in addition to running an American diplomatic stratergery.

Party elites like (C)Huntsman and Willard (and the Bushes) were happy to see Hillary as President.

"What is Cotton’s experience to be placed at that level?"

Went to Harvard, then got a Harvard Law degree. Then enlisted in the Army, served in Iraq and Afghanistan. Served in the House of Representatives for one term - was on the Committee on Foreign Affairs. Isnwo in he first term in the Senate, serving on the Committee on Armed Services and the Select Committee on Intelligence.

I think he does more good in the Senate than he could do as secretary of state, but he is definitely qualified.

IMHO, Cotten could use some time as a middle manager in a large org before tetting the top job. He needs exoerience in sorting out various demands from various types of supplicants,
