In the wake of Fidel Castro's death, the American people are looking to the press and President Obama for the significance of the communist dictator's passing.
The press has been virtually romanticizing the passing of the communist leader, who presided over the nation's economic stagnation and repression from his overthrow of Cuban strongman Batista in 1959 to his turnover of the reigns to the regime to his brother Raul in 2008.
The New York Times' headline illustrates the thorn in the side to the U.S. and the Western Hemisphere that Castro had been for nearly fifty years: Fidel Castro, Cuban Revolutionary Who Defied U.S., Dies at 90.
President Obama gave the following statement on the passing of Fidel Castro:

The president's offering of condolences to Fidel Castro's family and assurances that the U.S. remains a friend and partner to the communist regime led in nepotistic fashion by his brother Raul Castro speaks volumes.
The message was unmistakable to those who do not share the president's obvious sympathy for the Castro regime.

As is so often the case with the left-wing press and President Obama, it's often what is not said that is the most revealing. Compare this with Trump's single line:
"Fidel Castro is dead!"
Cuba libre!
Nice gfx
Misreporting on BOTH sides runs rampant and weakens the Conservative message.
The President spoke of the Cuban people having a partner in The United States.
He did not explicitly speak of the communist regime having a partner in The United States.
To condemn him as having expressed the latter when his expression was, in fact, the former is as dishonest a bit of ‘journalism’ as ever engaged in at the New York Times. Conservatives must disavow and rise above this sort of dirty dealing.
YES, the Cuban people deserve their “Ding, Dong, The Witch Is Dead” moment, as does the rest of the free world.
However, Conservatives must keep on-message that it is not the death of tyrants that sets men free, but the death of tyranny itself, and the former is not the equal of the latter. Furthermore, the latter end will not be achieved merely by the global achievement of the former; our argument is not principally waged against men by force of arms, but against ideas by force of argument, an apologetic for Truth, and education in righteousness.
Additionally, men of constant and sober mind will know in such hours as this that God’s perspective stands above our own, and His response to this is not a uniformity of pleasure nor of mourning, but both at specific points.
As to that I submit the following as a thoughtful explication:

I’m with Trump and Gingrich. Both great statements.
I didn’t see misreporting here. Only that Obama’s message was equivocal and, as was pointed out, a typical Leftist message that leaves out the death and destruction of the 800 pound gorilla-tyrant in the room.
Our lesson about “not so much the tyrant as tyranny” speaks to our need in America to once again embrace the Constitution as written ans originally understood and intended as the Supreme Law of the Land against federal tyranny.
I don’t think God is glad about death, but I think at some point He directs such because the person has reached the point of no return and more lives are saved by their death than otherwise.
Interesting quirk of history; Castro & Franco corresponded with each other on somewhat “friendly” terms. It seems Castro’s grandfather was from the same Spanish village as Franco. They had some “family” connections.
If I remember this right Castro’s grandfather was a former Spanish soldier who stayed in Cuba after the Spanish-American War & Cuba’s liberation.
@rbnhy @MarcACaputo Served his people?

Firing squads work.
The American marxists had best behave.
What Mike Pence said on Twitter:
“The tyrant #Castro is dead. New hope dawns. We will stand with the oppressed Cuban people for a free and democratic Cuba. Viva Cuba Libre!”
Excellent!
obama has never had an original thought
Yes, and the best part is knowing that the left is trying to put their heads back together again.
It will start tomorrow: the talking heads will be asking:
“Don’t you think Trump went too far?”
“Trump cruel?”
“Trump uncaring?”
“Trump mean?”
I love it!
Castro is worm food. The shriveled up old goat should have kicked the bucket 30 years ago.
Next shriveled up old hag I want to see go is george soros.
Is it too much to hope for that 2016 might still be hungry enough to snatch Mugabe? :P
BRAVO President Trump!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
"Today, the world marks the passing of a brutal dictator who oppressed his own people for nearly six decades. Fidel Castros legacy is one of firing squads, theft, unimaginable suffering, poverty and the denial of fundamental human rights..." Trump's statement following news of the death of Castro.
"Build a list of those praising Castro and you will have a list of leftists who reject reality for an ideological fantasy" - Newt Gingrich's response to the news of the death of Castro.
BOOM!
I am with you, President Trump, hoping for a day of freedom for the Cuban people!
Che now has a partner to hold the rocks he’s been breaking in hell all these years.
Trump and Newt say it like it really is.
