A Better Way to Pick the Next President: The National Popular Vote Compact
Daily Beast ^ | November 25, 2016 | Karen Hobert Flynn

From the White House to the courthouse, every elected official in America—Democrat, Republican, or independent—has something in common: He or she got more votes than the people they ran against. That adherence to majority rule changes on Jan.20, as it has four other times in our history. While ballots are still being counted, the final tally is likely to find President-elect Donald Trump trailing Hillary Clinton by around 2 million votes; he will be the second of our last three presidents to be elected with less than a majority, indeed less than a plurality, of the popular vote.

Ditch the illegal aliens, the ballot box stuffing, the illegal vote changing by electronic machines, and Hitlery lost by over 5 million votes.

This should not ever be done without first giving all other states the freedom to create their own separate or combined nations. I don’t want to be ruled by coastal big cities. If I did, I’d move there.

Anyone promoting this garbage should be hit with a barrage of lawsuits for attempting to subvert—DIRECTLY—a provision of the Constitution without submitting the change to the amendment process. It is a violation of the rights of the people the Electoral College was intended to protect—the people of the less-populous states.

The Electoral College is truly a thorn in the side of the Communists in this country.

I think that this would open the door to third parties. Think about it. While Democrats and Republicans fall all over themselves to split urban votes, some enterprising third party could swoop in and win a monopoly in the heartland.

Perhaps Karen Flynn doesn't know the difference between a state, country, township or much of anything else, geographically speaking....

The presidential election is a national election, across all states... The election process as it is now is, beyond any shadow of a doubt, as it should be...

All states get equal say in the election of the president based on population....

Am I wrong about that..?

Article II, Section I shows the absolute brilliance of our “Founding Fathers!” The provision for the “Electoral College” was put into the Constitution of the United States of America to prevent a concentration of votes, in large cities or states, from being able to control the rest of the state’s votes. For this provision alone, I feel that, indeed these men were guided by Divine Providence. AMEN!

Karen Hobert Flynn’s motto is “Ignorance is Strength”. (P.S. She’d be clueless as to where this quote is from.)

She proved your point when she claimed that ". . .so that all 48 states. . ."

Pure democracy has been likened to two wolves and a sheep deciding on what to have for dinner.

That adherence to majority rule changes on Jan.20, as it has four other times in our history.

Donald Trump has just been elected as the 45th President of the United States.

If there have been a total of five elections in our history where the president was elected without a majority of the popular vote, then this means 1 out of every 9 presidents was elected this way. That hardly makes such a scenario an outlandish turn of events that needs to be "fixed."

A Better Way to Pick the Next President:

Only Citizen property owners who are (net) taxpayers and can pass a 1940’s era eighth grade level ‘civics’ test may vote.
