A Better Way to Pick the Next President: The National Popular Vote Compact
Daily Beast ^ | November 25, 2016 | Karen Hobert Flynn

From the White House to the courthouse, every elected official in America—Democrat, Republican, or independent—has something in common: He or she got more votes than the people they ran against. That adherence to majority rule changes on Jan.20, as it has four other times in our history. While ballots are still being counted, the final tally is likely to find President-elect Donald Trump trailing Hillary Clinton by around 2 million votes; he will be the second of our last three presidents to be elected with less than a majority, indeed less than a plurality, of the popular vote.

Need the Not This *hit Again guy. I wish these Leftists would get their stories straight. I see how Hamilton is back in vogue with the Left because of quotes he made about the Electoral College is meant to stop demagogue as Trump fits that definition. These Leftists claim all laws binding an elector to vote a certain way are unconstitutional. Now we have other Leftists once totting their stupid end around the amendment that relies on forcing electors to vote a certain way. I wish these Leftists would get their nose out of their utopian theories and look at example of how presidential elections in countries with first-past-the-post single round elections. They just assume everything else would be the same in the US but changing the way the POTUS is elected would fundamentally alter the political and party structure in the US.

The “Hunger Games” pact. Bow down to your population heavy overlords, flyover country colonies! New York, Chicago and Los Angeles will decide the future of the entire country regardless of what the peasants want.

P-u-u-leeeeze......

Hillary’s vote count includes vote fraud, illegals not entitled to vote, military votes not counted, the dead, the almost dead, the recently buried and the cemetery count.

“A Better Way to Pick the Next President: The National Popular Vote Compact”

So if the people of Indiana vote for candidate X with 65% of the vote, that should be canceled out because Los Angles votes for someone else?

Jesus, these people are really starting to p*ss me off.

Why allow voters to vote for “unacceptable” candidates. Isn’t that where we’re heading. Now at least half of “Americans” are disavowing constitutional electoral politics. Progressives are revolting in more ways than one.

Karen Hobert Flynn’s motto is “Ignorance is Strength”. (P.S. She’d be clueless as to where this quote is from.)

It would certainly save the democrats a lot of money spent to manufacture votes if they only had to do it in one or two large cities instead of several cities in several states as they do now.

As it stands now, they’re having to manufacture votes in Philly, Detroit, and Madison ahead of the recount in order to steal the election. They miscalculated the anger of the public in a few states including Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania.

Suicide pact, indeed. This is a recipe to deliver the nation into the hands of the lunatics who run the cities of NY, LA, CHI, StL, SF, etc.

Said amendment would require the approval of states that would be effectively disenfranchised by it, thus has about as much chance of passage as Hillary has of becoming Potus.

The electoral college was probably the best thought out device in the Constitution.

One of the best summary of the making of the Constitution is "55 Men and the Constitution". It's an inexpensive soft cover book. It can also be read at google books.

The book makes note the problem of the Supreme Court in that there is n check.

They’d drop this $h!t in a New Yawk minute if ever a Republican wins the popular vote while the democrat wins the electoral vote.

Writing for The Daily Beast .... well, glad I don't have to listen to the liberal logic of this beast, daily. Hey, you know The Forefathers and something about a Constitutional Republic?

*Yawn* An honest counting of the votes would probably put Trump ahead in the popular vote, too..
