Its time the majority that believes in a progressive, inclusive and compassionate America did more than just tweet about it. Nothing wrong with tweeting, but forces of exclusion, hatred and rage have overtaken the highest office in the land, so its also time for some old school activism. Time to march. Time to assail lawmakers. Time to boycott. Time to stand and be counted. Enough is enough. Lets take our country back.
So much for the peaceful transition

Take ‘your’ country back. Let’s see, there is a defined process for that - it’s called an election, and ‘your’ version of the country lost. Suck it up, buttercup.

It’s OUR country and WE took it back. If these leftist idiots don’t like it they can take a one way walk into the ocean. We didn’t like it when Obama won, either. We didn’t act like violent, demented little children.

The writer is suggesting the violent overthrow of a duly elected President.

I still have a copy of Leonard Pitts' column written on 9/11 and posted the day after: you can read it
here. Unfortunately, in the subsequent 15 years he has shown that even if he believed it then, he doesn't believe it now. I still do, and that is the divide between us.

When Trump has turned the country around (as I pray he and the new Congress will be able to do), let's see what these hateful traitors say then.
Barring some catastrophe, I believe we will be seeing "a rising tide that lifts all boats," like the Reagan revolution, in the next two years.
To: artichokegrower
They are trying to gin up a manufactured version of our spontaneous Tea Party.

The writer is suggesting the violent overthrow of a duly elected President. He does say to "assail lawmakers."
It's possible he means this in a figurative sense. But more likely he's slyly suggesting a literal assault, while being ambiguous enough that he won't trigger a Secret Service visit.
Even if meant figuratively, it reminds me of the revoltingly smug phrase liberals to use to describe their self-congratulatory do-gooderism, "afflicting the comfortable and comforting the afflicted."

And I refuse to come together. Now that is what I expected from the San Jose Mercury.

We didnt act like violent, demented little childrenNope. We had Tea Parties. Which - at least the ones that I attended - were more like church services than protests.
Contrast that with the anarchy that's currently happening now. Who's more civilized?

The Obamadaddy was Kenyan. A Kenyan DIPLOMAT, actually.
The Obamamamma was too young to confer citizenship to ANYTHING—let alone the spawn.
Yes, boys and girls—we have had a pretend-LEGAL POTUS for nearly eight years.
And...........HOW’S THAT WORKIN’ OUT?

Leonard Pitts is an excellent example of the Blind Squirrel/Stopped Clock theory. Every now and then, he stumbles into the truth inadvertently.
