Dear Millennials: Welcome to the Real World
Self | 11/11/2016 | BubbaBasher

Dear Millennials,

After much thought I now think I understand your plight. You were living in the Matrix and have suddenly been unplugged against your will. You voted to take the blue pill and stay in your warm little safe space but you were forced to take the red pill instead. The real world is a harsh and ugly place where Communism and Socialism have caused the death of millions upon millions of people. The real world does not give you participation trophies or insulate you from being offended. In the real world nothing is free and actions have consequences.

In the Matrix you've never known a president other than Obama. The media never told you about his scandals and unconstitutional executive orders. You were continually told how great a president he was and how any decent was racist. The public schools never taught you about our history or how and why our government works the way it does. A prime example is all of the people that believe we live in a democracy. A democracy is nothing more than mob rule and that's why the left wants to eliminate the Electoral College in favor of the popular vote. Mobs are easily controlled by lies and propaganda.

The college system radicalized you by vilifying Republicans and capitalism all while pushing failed economic, political, and social policies. It also charged you fortunes for completely worthless degrees.

The media and Obama have convinced you that being out of work and having a rotten economy are the norms. You believe that bigger government and more taxes will solve all of your problems. Without a true understanding of our history and how government works you are easily convinced that there is no right or wrong and there are only gray areas. You are told that your feelings matter more than facts. That's why you are triggered when facts contradict your feelings.

The facts are that you've never been told the truth about Obama, the Clintons, or Donald Trump. You weren’t told about Bill Clinton’s impeachment, all the women he sexually assaulted, or his many trips to Pedophile Island. You weren’t told that Hillary Clinton lies about everything including stupid things that are easily disapproved. You weren’t told that the women accusing Trump of assaults were paid to do so and they later recanted their claims. You were only told how frightening he was and that the world would end if he was elected. You have been manipulated into believing that Hillary was a wonderful person that only cared about you and was easily going to win over that evil Donald Trump. You didn’t know that the polls were oversampling Democrats by 12% or more. You weren’t shown the Hillary rallies that only had a few hundred people where Trump had thousands. You probably didn’t see the Tim Kaine rally where 3 people came. That’s right, 3 people. The media either turned a blind eye to these details or willfully deceived you.

So the bottom line is you have a right to be mad about this election. However that does not give you the right to go out and assault people, block traffic, or destroy other people’s property. Don't blame the people that gave you the red pill. Instead blame the people who gave you the blue pill to begin with, lied to you, and didn’t give you the tools you needed to understand and cope with the outcome.

Welcome to the real world.

Excellent piece (the “descent” rather than “dissent” thing not-with-standing).

Just remember, these are millennials as well:

One of the biggest mistakes Republicans made when W. was elected was acting apologetic that they won and then governing as such.

We won. It is time to act like it. We do not need to reach out to defeated leftists. They want to riot and break stuff? We need to meet them on the streets with baseball bats and crack their goddamned skulls open.

The time for niceties are over. They need to be brought to heel.

We definitely have our work cut-out for us to reach these minds full of mushy liberalism...

FWIW, white Millennials voted for Trump 48%, Clinton 43%.

US Department of (non) Education should be eliminated. Never should have been established. If the nation had 50
States setting standards rather than the federal government this might not have happened. The system was working well until to this corrupt one central standard became law.

I've thought for some time now that Robert A. Heinlein had a brilliant concept in his novel Starship Troopers. At some point the "snowflakes" so to speak had completely screwed up society, so former military men and women staged a violent takeover to set things straight.

By the time the novel opens there is a society where there is NO automatic citizenship. When you are 18 you can choose to enlist in the armed forces. After at least two years of service, only then are you granted citizenship and able to vote and hold office. Those without citizenship, the "civilians", still enjoy a good quality of life... but they aren't trusted with the reins of government. Because in this culture it is ONLY those who have demonstrated a willingness to be responsible for the well being of the body politic who are allowed into leadership positions.

There is no welfare state in Starship Troopers, at least not one that we recognize. There are also things like public executions and corporal punishment. There is no gun control. It is a peaceful society.

Imagine an America where the vast majority of millennial students would be banned from the polling places until they've shown some personal responsibility.

The electoral map has always looked like that for 18-25 year old voters. Then, they grow up and realize the real world isn't what they thought.

Winston Churchill allegedly said: "If you're not a liberal when you're 25, you have no heart. If you're not a conservative by the time you're 35, you have no brain."

Churchill actually never said that -- or at least there is no record of it. But, the quote does appear as early as 1875, in French:

I’m one of them! ;)

Pretty sad to see classmates from college have to use Disney metaphors to deal with their nervous breakdowns.

I mean, these loons got an equal say as I did!

Next time they’ll be facing an incumbent, so they’ll be at a bigger disadvantage. The millenials did turn out for Hillary in the end too; young people and minorities were her only reliable voting blocs.

Personally I have a better (bitter?) idea.

They want to control the future direction of the Republic, let them do so by getting some skin in the game. 57 years ago Robert A. Heinlein (Annapolis class of 1929) had the right idea - you get the right to cast a ballot after you have voluntarily served the nation. But everyone pays taxes regardless of their ability yo vote.

Sorry to be a party pooper, but your thesis is all wrong.

They were told all the things you say they didn’t know; they just ignored those things because they didn’t tell them what they wanted to hear, or came from sources that weren’t popular with their peers.

As the kids get older and shoulder the hod of life they will change. Work, Taxes, and service, kids and running a household will change them.

Living in Mom's basement on her Obamacare health plan? Using smartphone apps to hook up with a different partner for sex every night? In the Obama economy a lot of these kids are pushing 30 and have never had a job. Arrested Development.
